    Default How's your campaign going?

I've seen this post in RTW forums, I think it could work just as well here.

So, hows your current campaign going? Show maps if you want.

I am playing the HRE with SS 6.2. I am in the last third of the game and I am on the brink of collapse. The English battered 3 of my full stack armies. The Hungarians captured Vienna killed a full defending stack and the relief army of mine failed to capture it back. The Sizilians are laying Siege to Milan, the Danes to Hamburg and the Polish are laying siege to Prague. Novgorod battered my navy and is blockading my ports and the Norwegians landed 3 full stacks near Stettin. Oh and Assasins killed 5 of my family members in 2 turns and I am broke also.(I already disbanded some buildings to get some cash for retraining.)

I am playing total war games since Shogun and I must say I have a realy chalenging campaign here

Ps Byzantium and Portugal forged Huge Empires and are closing to my borders also. Did I mention my pope reputation is again near zero and that my nobility dislikes my King ?

You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.

The AI always cheats and SS has money scripts for it. that said the AI is realy realy good.I It often forms armies with 3 o rmore stacks wich cover each other. I doubt a single stack army could hav etaken Vienna from me but the Hungarians bought 3. 1 was the sieging army and the other ones had Canons and Marongels. The walls where impossible to defend and I was overwhelmed at the town square.

Vanilla AI doesn't cheat, as far as I noticed; in fact, the money I give to AI factions disappear with frightening speed, and they almost always struggle at the brink of povetry.

I just started a Russian campaign.
I took Vilnius, Helsinki, Riga, Smolensk, Kiev and Caffa.

I'm still developing Vilnius, Helsinki, Riga and Caffa. They need more ports (so I need to get the towns to a Large Town).

Smolensk is a Castle, and it's almost 'maxed' for this level,
Novgorod is my money cow, the Trade with the Danes is highly lucrative .
Kiev isn't highly developed, but I'm still busy.

H/Default for me and I almost always get backstabbed, even when I have a rep of very Trustworthy .

Well, I have played my Russian campaign until I had all my homelands secure (Helsinki, Novgorod, Riga, Vilnius, Smolensk, Kiev and Kiev. I was preparing an assault on Scandinavia or the Poles, not sure yet.
Anyhow, I'm not following the 'Great Info Thread' Guide, and I'm taking Moscow anyway, with a medium stack army, that's also in preperation.
When I get the feel back (read: if I want to play with the Russians) I wil do my assaults on Moscow and Scandinavia / Poland.

I also started another Campaign, testing the Turkish guide in the Info Thread.
I followed it, and the Egyptians also backstabbed me, as happened in the guide, and the writer said it was very rare, well, I got lucky... The Egyptians didn't want to be my Vasals, so I raped them in Egypt and the Holy Land.

    Chronologic:
I gave Mosul + Yerevan away and conquerord Antioch, Aleppo with my armies of Iconium and Caesarea (+ some reinforcements I made before changing Caesaerea to a city) and with the combined armies of Yerevan and Mosul (+ additional reinforcements of Mosul) I took Edessa.
After that I sent my veterans to Damascus and took that over. I wanted Acre to, as an extra piece of Economy support, but I was to late, I bought it for 2000 florins regular tribute, 10 turns long, it paid itself of anyway.
After my homeland were secure, I sent an army to Rhodes, as sometimes the AI forgets about it (in my games). After I took Rhodes, I took Smyrna, the Hungarians had the Byzantines extremely occupied.
After I got my second Castle, I took initiative, Cyprus was a next target.
The Byzantines' attention was all on Thesalonica and Constantinople (Hungarians) and not on Cyprus.
I just took it, and made peace the next turn, with a trade arrangement. Then the Venetians blockaded my port right away, a new war. I took Corinth and Iraklion of them (Another reason the Byzantines wanted peace) and they asked peace, which I granted, with a trade arrangement.

As the Venetians weren't happy with this arrangement, they lost 2 regions for blockading my port in Iconium, they sieged Iraklion, Rhodes and Corinth, but they got sallied as they had little stacks.
I again took a settlement as revenge, Durazzo, with 200 people living in it, it's just nice to fill Greece up. When the Hungarians got attacked by the Poles in Iasi and by the HRE in Budapest, they stopped bashing on the Byzantines.

I called in a Jihad on Baghdad and I was there first, BEAT THAT EGYPT

Former Prince, now Emperor John wanted to bring the empire back to the level of Justin(ianus). Beginning with Corinth and Smyrna ._. .
War it is then. I lost Smyrna first, but my veterans of Damascus and the other cities in my core (Antioch, Aleppo, Damascus, Edessa and Acre) owned them for me, the Emperor wasn't there anymore, strange.
A few turns later, I saw what happened, they sieged Corinth, but again I didn't find the emperor.
Corinth was un-attended and I lost it, in a way, the same turn I sieged Nicea, and it worked fine, they dropped the siege and tried to get back, fail AI .
After I got Nicea I assembled more troops in both Asia Minor as in Greece, I didn't want to lose Corinth, it's a nice foothold.
After a few turns I got 2 new armies, and I sieged Thessalonica and Constantinople, with succes. The Byzantines were over, I thought.
They had one more settlement, it seemed, my map info was to old to be trustworthy.
I scouted the black sea, and I found out they had Bucharest and Caffa. Justin wannabe it is.
I took over Bucharest, gave it to Hungary for an Alliance, and I took over Caffa as a foothold in the Russian plains near Kiev.
Then the Egyptians backstabbed me, as I told you before, but they didn't want to be my Vasals, bummer.
I took over Jerusalem right away, and sent a BIG stack to Jedda.
I sent another General to the Red Sea to rent some ships, and sent them to Jedda to, so I could go to Dongola after that. In Dongola I refreshed my troops and I marched on to Cairo. Whilest taking Dongola I took Gaza, and went to Alexandria by sea. I gave them a caesefire, but they attacked me again 10 turns later, as revenge I took Mosul and Trebizond. They were good boys again.
But they didn't learn they sieged Trebizond and Mosul, I lost Mosul.
I came back with a 1,5 stack army and I took Mosul, Yerevan and Tblisi. Well that's how far I am at the moment, and now the Mongols come in, lucky me, they are going for Kiev, but I'm in Caffa to, so bummer anyway .

Well, this is where I am now.

I am currently playing the Teutonic Campaign in Kingdoms. This is my first time playing that campaign and Poland remained a reliable ally up to now. I finished off Lithuania and was at war with everyone except HRE. I guess they got tired of me growing stronger and HRE slowly taking their lands.
My faction also got a bad reputation because HRE. I would ally with them upon their request and then turn around and attack Poland, my ally. I stayed friends with the Poland and I took a the rep hit.

Well, now I'm at war with just about everyone, trade was huge part of income which is gone now, and HRE now won't be my ally.

I started up an Americas campaign today. I chose to play as the Tarascans (took me about half an hour as the aztecs to obliterate them before starting a new campaign.) I've done quite nicely, having destroyed the chichimecs, and am now setting my sights on the aztecs. Despite my massive (and quite mutiny ridden, I made 3 armies to invade the Aztecs, 2 of them went rebel) military, I'm still getting about 3,000 florins per turn. Quite nice.

I'm just glad that they (the aztecs) had tlaxcalans to deal with, or else I probably would be fighting on two fronts right now.

    Excellent, thanks for asking.
It`s 13th turn, playing as Byzantium, SS 6.1.
I took Cannakale, Isparta, Scopia, Synope and I`m about to take Crete (it rebeled, I`ll take it without starting war with Venice) and Caffa. Bucarest goes down next turn. After that Emperor starts war against Turks in East while Prince starts war against Hungary to the West.

Awesome. Playing as The Kingdom of Jerusalem in Kingdoms. My economy is massive, and I managed to wipe out the Egyptians in 20 turns. I remember stacking up the build list and pressing end turn a few times just to see how the other factions develop. Funny watching the Byzantines and the Turks fight over Iconium, as it's the only settlement the Turks have in that area, and I'm amazed at how well they are defending it. Antioch don't seem to be doing much, apart from having minor battles with the Turks that don't really amount to anything. Also, the Mongols are here! They're acting very strange though, not advancing much. They took one settlement from the Turks and left, resulting in it's rebellion. I was like, "What?" I have a fort with a full banner army near their location, just in case they decide to advance my way.

And, how could I forget Venice? I uber raged when 3 of their armies started jiving towards Byzantium, sent two full stacks and butchered them, saving my allies ass. I lol'd when one of their armies rebelled for no reason, just living the Doge and the Prince at the mercy of my armies.

MY campaign is going decent. Playing as scotland. I took york on turn 2 and waited until the english moved there stack down to london before attacking Nottingham. As it turns out, the english also took Caernarvon but only had their king guarding it. As I attacked nottingham, the king came from Caernarvon with a monstrous mercenar army. I smashed the army and took Nottingham and then saw that Caernarvon was unprotected so I sent a unit of border horse to capture it. The pope than sent a message telling me to stop killing the english so I waited out the 7 turns. Then the crusades came and I was tasked with sending my faction heir to the holy lands. Destroyed jerusalem (buildings and populace) before sending my forces back by ship. During this time, Lpndon fell to my armies. Many turns later I sent my crusading force into North-western france to liberate Rennes from the english. Got another cease hostilities message. Its turn 51 and England is destroyed and I have a stack set to march on Dublin. I have the rest of the Isle and Caen and Rennes. Im not planning to blitz this one and casually forge my empire. Oh, and France and England allied about 5 turns ago and now france has a few stacks at my borders. No big deal.

    btw, im playing on H/H.

I'm playing as Poland and it's been the most fun faction so far. England and Spain were too easy. HRE I got harassed too much. Only thing Poland's infantry is trash.

20th turn most of grey provinces near Byzantium turned purple.
My previus campaign was more succesful at this point tho. I`ve conquered Ankara, Iconium and Cesarea, killed first Sultan in Ankara, familly member in Iconium and another Sultan in Caesarea. He had no children so I accidentally eliminated Turks in beggining! This time they`ll put more fight.

    Spanish Kingdom

Under the Dynasty of Valiente, from King Alfonso the Chivalrous to King Ricardo the Tyrant(9 simultaneous reign from the family, 1080-1275), the Kingdom of Spain was able to expand from the whole Iberian Peninsula in the west, to the whole present day France, Belgium and Netherlands in the north, and the African cities of Algiers, Tunis, Timbuktu, and Arguin in the south, absorbing the Kingdoms of Portugal and France and the Moorish Sultanate.

Then an opportunist General stole the throne from the Valiente, King Algonso de Ribeyriña,1275-1297, a descendant of Domingo the Wrathful, youngest son of King Rodrigo the Chivalrous(Only son of King Alfonso the Chivalrous), he expanded the territory into the present day Switzerland, and south Germany. Though, after his reign, King Augusto II the Tyrant took back the throne from the Ribeyriña, and again the Valiente has gained control of the Kindom!

The restored Valiente Dynasty, from King Augusto II the Tyrant to Vaasco II the Scarred(1297-1419, 4 simultaneous reign), Spanish Kingdom absorbed the Kingdoms of Milan and Venice, expanding the Territory to the northern Italy, the Balkan Peninsula including the isle of Crete, the present day Southern Turkey with Rhodes and Cyprus, and half of the present day Syria.

Now, under the reign of King Vaasco II, Spanish Expeditions of the Americas are being financed.

Throughout my game 23 Popes came from my Faction, and I'm currently allied with Russia, Scotland and TPS, sadly, Sicily and Denmark betrayed me! I'm at war with Egypt, The Mongols, Denmark and Sicily! Only Spain, Scotland, Aztecs, TPS, The Mongols, Egypt, Sicily, Denmark, Russia and the Timurids are the living factions in my game!

I got all these infos in my Record Notebook, its as if I am writing the history of the Medieval Europe! I'll scan it so you can see how it looks like!
