HOI 2 .. soviet help

im the soviets and i have something like 390+ divisions

i took the baltics, and the middle east except lebanon, syria and everything west of that and the arabian peninsula

and i also took the westernmost chinese minor, and afghanistan and also bulgaria

i was expecting germany to attack me as theyve been going historically so far (

ing europe)... so on every province bordering them i put like 20-30 divisions, and they did the same thing, but its been a year of looking across at each other , without any war... (its 1942)... meanwhile usa joined the uk and the allies and attacked north africa,

what should i do?

i could attack germany, and beat them... but it would bee veeeerrryyy hard, as we are toe to toe on strenth right now, or i could attack the allies, and i would take india and middle east with no problem
but im afraid that that will only help germany who will turn rite around and attack me

btw my alliance includes

persia, afghanista, tuva, mongolia, brazil, kuwait

Take over finland , push germany out of norway and begin sea borne invasions (very quick to berlin to block supplies). I would put troops next to romania as well because they might join.

Keep troops next to poland to stop them getting deep in your land.

so ur saying to attack the axis??

yeaa thats what ill probably do... usa seems pretty strong.. would wanna fight them

Yeah attack the axis because you get a preemptive strike vs them. Or land troops in south America and begin conquests there but good chance allies will attack you because USA guarantees most of the countries there.

You could also fight china if you have nukes and make crazy dissent in their country but the rebels are very annoying.

If Germany did not attack you in 1942 they probably would never do that. Generally I would suggest (for DD and ARMA) not to attack them since they act as a good buffer between you and Allies. On the other hand, it is better to smash deep into China now.

Don't take the advice of amphious attack - you need to build enough convoy, escort and transport craft in order to let it work (that is like, 100 convoy/escort each and probably twenty TC), not to mention you actually need twice as much divisions to ensure a slow, painful push into Germany.

Personally I think it does not worth it; indeed I rather provide resource to Germany so they can fuel up their warmachine against Allies - which Soviet would soon going to fight too (in ARMA and DD there is an event which Allies would declare war on Soviet right after Germany die - and next thing you would see 200 US divisions run on Europe for you).

I suggest attacking the Allies, taking India etc. And the U.K, then wait for about a year and push into U.S main.

UK is hard to crack without a navy, in which the USSR is as impotent as a 80 year old athritic monk

Just you need to choose right time to crack UK; if you let UK gear up for too long it is not wise to do it.

Use NAV's and fighters, and bomb the hell out of the RN.
Also if you chose to invade from Scandinavia first take Sweden, because then you have direct land access to central Germany. Focus on Kiel and Coppenhagen, if you control those they won't be able to cross from North Sea to the Baltic Sea. Then simply cut off the German troops in Poland. Remember, try to trade time for land in Western SU, time is what you need, coz you have the MP overhand and perhaps also with an IC build up the industrial overhand.

No, the SU is the leader of one of the three major alliances as such they cannot join anyone's alliance voluntarily.

I think I've done it once

In the Molotov-Ribbentrop event I chose "Push for an unholy agreement!" or something similar, and Germany accepted. Gave me some easy techs (since SU tech-teams suck) and allowed me to push trough in the far east.

...That is untill Germany backstabbed me, obviously

How could Germany back stab you if you were a member of the Axis? That would require him to ban you from the alliance then declare war on you, that's something I've never seen.

You can make Germany join comintern instead. Try and coup them and then invite.

I don't know, this was vanilla HoI II. I'll check it later, if I have the save game still that is. (Seems unlikely since I did a recovery on the computer some months back)

Not sure; the "Unholy Alliance" option did not put Soviet into Axis I remember, but just an alliance between Commintern and Axis.

Altough I never saw that before; note the "Unholy Alliance" only occures with 5% of chance.
