    Default A dumb installation question

Hello, I really want to play this mod but I'm particularly an "idiot" when it comes to installations

So far, this is what I've done:

Downloaded both the main soft and patch, so far the main .exe is working. The problem is the patching process, how do I extract the file? I know it's a pretty dumb question but I'm not really into this computer thingy, and I hope someone can give me a step by step procedure on how this is done. I have WinRar, and would I need to extract the patch to what folder? I don't even know if I'm asking the right questions=(

Any help would be much appreciated. Btw, I'm using MTW:Gold and Xp.

    Thank you very much^

The simplest way is to extract the patch into a temporary folder. after unzipping it, copy the whole IB2 folder and paste it into your Medieval II Total War\mods folder. THis will overwrite your current IB2 files.

patch 2 is coming out shortly. Riothamus has created a installation file for it so all you will have to do is point it to the right folder. patch 2 will include patch 1 changes also, so you will no longer need the 1st patch.

Thank you for the prompt reply, I think it's best that I wait for the patch with the installation file.

When copying over files, especially with Vista windows, things can get complicate. The Beta Patch II will be in an installer, the same as the initial IB2 Beta. This should make things a bit easier for everyone

@riothamus have to say so far an awesome mod i always loved rome tw so you have taken an improved game and put it almost back in the age of war i like so my thanks as for the difficulty installing with vista i would recomend that somewhere in your installation of mod instructions or the like you strongly urge people with vista to turn of user account control LOl that way the game installs exactly as xp does saves alot of frustration and again awesome mod IB2 team
