I have recently changed my computer to another one, which is Vista based and I am having problems with 3DSMax.
So far I have installed Photoshop CS 8.0. with the NVDIA dds plug-in and 3DS Max 8. I have set the Graphics mode of 3DS Max to "Software", as I have checked that it was how it was configured in my old XP based computer, where everything worked fine.
Now, the problem that I have is that when I try to assign a texture to a model, selecting any dds file makes the following error message appear: "Error creating Direct 3D Device".
If it helps, my graphic card is a NVDIA GeForce 9500M GS 512Mb.
Edit: I can open .tga files, so the problem is only for .dds files.
Any idea on what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
