    Default Keep getting booted

I am currently playing my first campaign and working the ai but i keep getting kicked during my current battle. Do people get randomly kicked out of the program while playing due to some kind of over load? Just asking because of how i have been exited to windows two times in a row while trying to complete the same battle.

Then, you should probably try to play in windowed mode, as it greatly reduces the crashes you can get when finishing a battle.

How to do so is explained in Hesus & Cze FAQ, point 12 of the post below:

Yeah, wait...are you crashing in the midst of the fighting? Or are you crashing at the summary screen trying to return to the campaign map?

If you're crashing mid-battle, that might be something different than the fix Gauliez just suggested.

Getting crashes in mid battle looks more like a pc related problem. It could be that your pc can' t handle the game.

    Could you post your specs?

windows xp, dual pent.(r) processor 3ghz (X2), 3.25 gb of ram and 8800 gts pci-express nvedia card. I dont think its my pc though and it occurs mid battle. The battle is consisting of my almost completely full stack of horse archers versus 3 armies consisting of mainly 2 full stacks of infantry men so alot is going on. Mainly me destroying a force two or three times my size with arrows everywhere. Another battle before this had the same thing happen but i was able to replay it and finish it. I dont think SPQR likes getting its ass kicked in battle, lol.

You do know that SPQR doesn't take advantage of dual core? So it's pretty much just running on one of the cores. Also, RTW leeches ram. If you for some reason has used alot of ram since earlier if you for example have lots of programs running in the background, this will happen sooner.
Is it laggy when you play these kinds of battles before it crashes?

Also make sure you installed SPQR correctly you may have leftovers from another mod. I noticed you said you could never get RS to work, so that is a clue you might not be installing properly.

Also Unless you dual core CPU is like the E8400 etc series then its only using the 1 core at half its rating, the E8400 ETC. Are their rating of 3.0 ghz. its all a matter of your technology.

Sounds like Issues with your VC if its crashing Midgame, I suggest New drivers you shouldnt be getting ANY crashes with your system. Sometimes a new system may be bugged. of course it can all be user error also.

i uninstalled everything manualy each time i failed to get RS running including before i installed SPQR. Battles run pretty smooth with little lag. i do have memory problems that i never addressed like not having enough to defrag my system, could this be a factor?

I agree, crash in mid-battles are pretty odd. But I would still try to play the game in windowed mode, since it seems to eat less resources that way (or to be better handled by system, or whatever...)
For example, when I was not playing in windowed mode, I always needed a minute or so to switch from the Killsheet back to SPQR. In windowed mode, everything is running smooth, instantly going from a program to another. I guess in windowed mode, the system can better cope with the game.

So I would say try it in windowed mode, and if it doesn't work, it shall be something else, but at least we will know. As said that humoristic series we had

yes you really need to remove some programs or get a bigger Harddrive. Defrag is a MUST

windows mode can be accessed via options? I never liked playing in windows mode because of how it takes away from the feel of the game, but i will try none the less. what kind of hard drive should i look into? I found myself deleting alot of programs but it seemed to make little difference.

When you did the uninstal you should also delete the main RTW folder. This way you will be sure there won' t be any left overs from previous mods.

    @Angrychris

If you set your ingame resolution to the same as your desktop resolution, you will never see the difference between windowed or fullscreen. It will look just as if it is fullscreen, only difference is that it will perform alot better, and if you want to alt tab to other programs ingame, it will do so instantly and without the loadscreen when you tab back. Only advantages

He needs to defrag, and free up virtual memory on the hard drive. Doing this will probably stop the CTDs also get the latest drivers for your VC.

Guys, I also got a lot of CTD just in the middle of a battle. My PC is WinXP SP3 2Gb RAM 8800 GTS Athlon 5200+ X2

This is really frustrating as the mod is really really great. I did reinstall everything twice. In between 2 install I cleaned both folders & registry keys, so pretty much my install is done in the right way

The only difference I see with your conf is that my version of RTW is a french one, therefore I've got a mixture of french/english during in-game phases

    Thoughts ?

Did you try update your VC drivers? As it looks like the same problem as angrychris you should follow the same steps lt discribes.
