Default LDV 6.1 VS SS 6.1

    Hi LDV'ers.

Could anyone please tell me the pro and Cons of these 2 great mods? they are both HUGE and mod the vanilla game so much that they end up as entirely new games. but what is the great difference between these mods. what is the difference in the feel?

It seems like the 2 mods have a kind of rivalry in this forum (REPMAN forbids SS content in sub-mods). this makes me think that im not the only one having trouble to differentiate between the two mods.

How did you manage to mispell twice the three letter word DLV? ^^

Stainless Steel might be the best choice - if you can't handle a 3 letter acronym then perhaps the depth of Deus Lo Vult will be too much

Joking aside I doubt there is anyone in the TW center community that has any problems differentiating between these 2 mods, they are obviously very different.

SS is like a polished and expanded vanilla which anyone who's played it would know. Seriously, don't bother with vanilla - SS is much more enjoyable and challenging, especially if you use the RRRC minimod.

DLV is like the game vanilla should have been and more, it's deeper, more complicated and harder than any other mod I know of. It's audience is much smaller and probably more hardcore than SS, since depth = effort and many people don't have the time to spare, the patience or the intelligence to find DLV as awesome as it's fans do.

So if you liked vanilla then you'll love SS.

But if you want it harder, deeper and slower then come give DLV a shot

As for there being any animosity between DLV and SS... nope there is none. SS is the most popular mod and differentiating DLV from it is easy because for the most part we don't use the same work they do. DLV has a unique flavor that won't be compromised by copying stuff from another popular mod... unless it's really important

This is the best description of the difference between the two mods on this board... Very cool Taiji.

My two cents would be that DLV is the only mod for MTW2 that is actually a serious strategy game... look at my sig and click on the guide to see what I mean. Just keep in mind that you are not going to understand the game mechanics we are talking about if you don't read repmans manual first. That is stickied above on the DLV home page... Hope that helps.

    specially gifted i guess....

thanks Taiji and Luis Daoiz y Velarde for your answers, before i posted last night (night in my timeframe at least) i had read through 7 different mods and their minimods to find the mod for me. I came out with DLV and SS as the 2 real candidates but i was so confused by reading changelogs of the mods and their respective minimods that i simply could not imagine the games in my head.

i am going to give DLV a try.

Well, I started my first game of DLV yesterday, and I must say the best about it so far is that it is customizable ! My memory of SS is that it is much less user friendly. (is there a manual ?) All in all I found DLV much easier to start with, thanks to all the info you can easily get.

Hi, I've played about 10 different RTW/M2TW mods since I started playing this wonderfull TW series with shogun. I've played the 2 mods you are asking, SS for many time since 2.0 i think, it's and awesome rework of the vanilla, like taiji already said. I've started my first DLV campaign about a month ago and im totally addicted now, it's the most challenging and realistic mod i've played so far, much more involving, I'd recommend DLV to all players with some experience with the game mechanichs and looking for something more...

Unchallengeably, absolutely, completely, addictivily, just... DLV!
A mini-mod is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!

DLV is like a game on its own, like a M2TW-bis
let its path be paved with roses

DLV is like a RPG somewhere
    SS is more challenging...
I found lots of fun in DLV.
DLV gives us a totally different Kingdoms
SS is just a Kingdoms Plus--This is just my opinions...
    Anyway,I like both two MODS
But I can't make two MODS run correctly in One Kingdoms' folder
Especially SS RR with DLV. . .
