Default Gay referee forced out in Turkey

First news is about a referee in Turkey who wasput out of his job because he was gay.
The second news is in Turkish and it tells that this referee's imam big brother supports his little brother and says he should not be afraid,he will not have any negative comment from family or friends.

And Turkey want to join the EU?
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Yeah... Romania is already in the EU, and these days, the new christian right organization here is planning on an anti-gay anti-non-christians and anti-chip parade.

Though Turkey still has a lot to go before its democracy can be considered good enough for EU, Romania is already in the EU despite so many non-democratic attitudes expressed by people around here, including quite a large number of the state officials.

I'm really getting tired of senators and deputates stating that christianity is Romania's official religion or that christianity should be embraced by all the population and so on. (It's not general population making the claims, it's official representatives of the state)

I remember how Romania or some other country there kicked a Turk out of their footbal team for no reason as well a while ago. Weird how that's apparantly okay.

I haven't heard of that incident in my country, but then again, we've got plenty of undemocratic incidents as it is. The attitude of my fellow countrymen is such that the more liberal and respectful of human rights and liberties I became, the less I considered myself Romanian... although I guess all liberals get through this state of having the ratio "member of humanity":"member of certain country" increase.

This must be revenge for that day a Romanian team sacked a Turkish coach for being Muslim.

    lol and hi-5.

@OP: i have a scientific study that i could link that shows gay men have below average spatial awareness. The guys who sacked him must have read this scientific journal report that was published by a respected British scientific journal magazine in Britian for the scientific community.

    "tears"?

You made an unbased assumption and a strange implication, and I called you on on that. I don't know why exactly you hate Romania and Romanians, but in the end, it's irrelevant. You made a mistake, and I called you on on it.

Was it the Turkish state which did this? Or the Turkish FA? Or the league... or what? Because if it isn't the Turkish state, why is this relevant at all to EU membership or modernity, when the exact same thing happened in Romania?

I made no mistake. The event happened. A Turk coach was sacked for being Muslim in Romania. Sorry you took it personally, which is why I politely asked for a holding back of tears.

Then it seems I should have been clearer when showing how you were mistaken.

First, I'd like you to show me that evidence, but even if it is, I can't say I'm really proud of Romanians (I am very proud of the country though). Anyway... a news article, anything showing that a Turkish coach was sacked in Romania for ethnic/religious reasons, and I assure you that I'd be very angered with it. I'm quite angered with a lot of other intolerance acts committed by this people anyway, as I've already said... (and yeah, since I'm a rationalist in a deeply christian country with a creationism rate competing with that of the USA, some of the intolerance gets directed at me as well)

However, you made a logical fallacy, you made an erroneous connection.

The Turks sacking a coach because he's gay could only be considered "revenge" for a gay team sacking a coach because he's Turkish.

That's where you made your mistake, and I called you out on it, I told you that it was a "non sequitur". You however misunderstood it.

Normally, I would be the first to go against the own non-liberal acts of my countrymen, hell, if you look through the topic again, you'll see that my first post in this topic deplored similar acts in my country. I wasn't defending anything here, I was only pointing out that you made a logical mistake, and I still hold to that.

However, from this to hating an entire nation and people is quite a long road. I may be wrong, but judging by several posts of yours in the political fora, I'd say you don't quite like us, and that you're committing the same error which everyone hates when it affects them: you're placing everyone in the same shoes, you no longer see others as individual humans above anything else, you see them, in this case, as Romanians, and only then unique individuals.

There was a thread on it in this forum, I'll try and find it.

The Turks sacking a coach because he's gay could only be considered "revenge" for a gay team sacking a coach because he's Turkish.
That bit was the joke. That post was designed to remind people this is hardly exclusive to the non-white-christian-western nations as people were implying earlier with comments like "This proves they can't be in the EU"

Well you would be entirely wrong. I don't like the same people of every country on earth. Nationalists, Racists, Liars, Hypocrites etc. I often debate using Devil's advocate to attempt to prove the aforementioned vices. Certain Romanians on the forum have conducted themselves poorly morally and intellectually so I set out to 'teach them a lesson'. It is not nice, I know, but it serves to show them what it's like on the receiving end of blind nationalism for a change. Then perhaps they'd realise how dumb it was, but to no avail.

    Sad, but I can't say it's surprising.

I always had high hopes for Turkey being a truly modern and secular country, but it seems to have taken steps backwards in recent years.
