    Prelude: Megatons of bits

"Year 2277. I have finally arrived. To where? Well, i've arrived to the suite area of Tenpenny Tower. My mission is to blow the city of Megaton to pieces. My dear friend, Jericho is here with me. The tower is beautiful; exactly the opposite of what i've seen. Most towns are poor, ugly and crippled, while the tower is filled with flowers... and unfortunately guards. Why are there guards everywhere? Doesn't matter, because i have an assault rifle and Jericho has his power armor."

"But we must hurry, as we get lots of bottle caps if we explode the bomb quickly; Mr. Burke said so. Come, Jericho! Let's go to the balcony.
The balcony was filled with flowers. This place is amazing. The sights at the balcony ever even prettier, but the ugly town of Megaton was ruining it. Well, soon we get rid of it. Here is a photo of me, Mr. Burke, Jericho and Allistair Tenpenny."

"Mister Burke said that i have the honor of exploding the bomb, but then i heard something else: he refused to pay me! Money is something that wont be easily taken out from me. Burke will pay the price..."

"Allistair also made resistance, so Jericho took care of him."

"I can now take all the money AND explode the bomb. Jericho will get a pack of cigarettes i found from Burke. This is the way it goes... MWHAHHHAAA! Bye bye Megaton..."

    Megaton is no more.

"Hahhaaa! It has blown up!" i said.
"Sir, beware the shock wave!" Jericho said.
"What? Ohhh.... ungghhh! It is heavier than i thought!"
"Sir, don't fall of the balcony!" shouted Jericho
    "No! The shockwave... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

    And he fell into darkness.

One thousand and 200 years before...

    Chapter I: The worthy start

"I am king Sancho. Crown of Aragon is my empire. We are surrounded by rowdy rebels, but our plan is to drive them off quickly and secure our holdings in the Iberian Peninsula.

Half year later, Sancho was approached by a messenger who brought a message from the council.
"Send emissary to Leon and Castille".
"Messenger! Tell your lord that I, king Sancho of Aragon, shall send my best diplomat to negotiate."
This was done. One year later we had a military alliance and trade rights with the Leon-Castilian kingdom. They can prove an unbeatable help as a shield who protects us from the Moors. Meanwhile, we can take the rebel cities and make sure we are secured if France attacks.

Sancho got a message from the middle east: The mighty empires of Seljuks and Egyptians have unified against the possible infidels. They are allied.
"They can become a problem later, if they get Kwarezmian Empire to their alliance. Then we are doomed, as no christian man can then enter the holy lands. We must free them soon."
Our first military operation was to strike Pamplona, which is an important castle just at the border of France.

Sancho himself led this battle. We have faced an enemy who has more experience, but we shall not surrender. No resistance was made while we broke the gates, but it was only because after that we were ambushed. Their spearmen attacked our army from the sides of the gates, while hot boiling oil fell to our necks. It was a total massacre, and therefore Sancho ordered the troops to withdraw.

When the second invasion commenced, Sancho wanted to make a breakthrough and ordered the cavalry to follow him over the enemy troops. They got past them, and made it to the square. This had disorganised the enemy army, and it was easy for us to crush them. It was a victory, but if we win like this somewhere else, we are doomed.

This was most likely caused by the high command of Fernando Díaz.

    End of Chapter I

    Chapter II: The aftermatch

Sancho has just conquered Pamplona. This has prevented the French to expand to Iberia by land. Next target is to take Valencia.

"We will strengthen our army here and then take Valencia".

With strategic building, we managed to build a town guard to Zaragoza.

"As the result, we are now able to produce even more soldiers to the frontlines. We must, i say, we MUST secure a foothold. We made a marriage with France and got a new general. Now France most likely will not be attacking us anytime soon. We still don't get much income, but as we get new regions, we will.
With closer investigation, we chose the next buildings to construct: a church to Barcelona and roads to Zaragoza. After that, we will build a port to make a navy which will take Palma.

All is going well for now. Soon, we invasion of Valencia will commence, and then the bravery of our soldiers will be put to the test."

    End of Chapter II

Now an update without pictures. Just story.

Chapter III: Claiming what is ours - rightfully!

King Sancho met messengers, who brought messages around the world.
    "Barcelona's church is ready, sir."
"Good. Send emissaries to Portugal and Moors. We need powerful allies."
And so was done. The Moors accepted an alliance and trade rights with us, France accepted our offer to marry our Aragonese prince to them. They accepted.
"We are now a diplomatically powerful nation, but i feel sick... call the doctor!"
Doctor's diagnosis was clear: Sancho was suffering of pneumonia. He is hardly able to command the troops who are now, at the year of our lord 1085, besieging Valencia, which is rightfully ours.
We also got a message from the world: England and Scotland have gone to war. Rumors tell that the reason is that the scottish took York from rebels, and that prevented the English to expand. War has spread out on these people; we must hope that it will end soon. The Pope himself had also heard of this war, and he was furious towards England. Scotland had exactly the same rights to take York as they had. England is now excommunicated.

King Sancho has 0 command stars, 6 authority and 5 piety. Not the best of kings.
But because the siege of Valencia has lasted for two years, Sancho had to command the troops.
0-star King Sancho faced the 7-star rebel leader El Cid. Cid's armies rushed towards us, right out of the gates. But we were prepared. Their attack was stopped by a rain of arrows shot by our two glorious archer units. El Cid was now trapped, and as our forces advanced, they lost men and withdrew closer to the square. But there they made a terrible mistake. Just when they retreated inside the castle, Sancho and his company of cavalry charged in and took the gates. Our mighty army rushed inside, and killed everyone. It was a total massacre.
Later reports tell that we lost roughly 350 men, while they lost 412 out of 412. We have now taken Valencia, and it will be occupied by Sancho's soldiers.

During the time that the siege lasted, we have improved our buildings, ports, roads and trade. We are now ready to take Palma, the isle close to us. Council of Nobles offered to give us some best units currently available. We are victorious.

    IV: Life in the trenches

"I slowly opened my eyes. Before thinking anything else, before thinking where i was, i knew that is survived. Now, where am i?"

"Wherever i am, i don't want to end up like that skeleton."

"My legs are hurt. I used my hunting rifle to lift myself up and i walked a bit. I found out that this place is a hospital - owned by the people who look zombies, also known as Ghouls. The head doctor said that i could go if i wanted. I left the hospital and headed towards the bar called '9th Circle'."

"I asked around where i was, and i found out: I was in the national museum of Washington! Unfortunately i found out that Jericho had died. And with him he took the power armors."

"I left the museum. Outside i noticed something in the horizon: a supermutant with a minigun. I picked up my rifle and aimed."

"But i was in too bad condition, and i missed. Now the mutant chased me. Only possible chance was to jump to the trenches and hope there aren't any more mutants. I jumped and when i landed, i found out something. There were five mutants down there! I quickly examined the nearby area and found two frag mines. I threw them to the ground and escaped. When i fled, i heard a big bang behind me. Had the mines exploded? I peeked around the corner. Yes they had, and the mutants were dead."

"I already started looting them, when i heard noise behind me. The trench was about to collapse, but why? I found the answer by looking back: there was one mutant."
Last thing i remember was getting buried under the rubble.

"I don't want to die; i want to live as my glorious ancestor, who fought in the second World War. If i die, i want to go with him."

    End of Part IV

If you don't already get it: the topic, which is "Crossing the Great Divide", tells about how the future guy is distantly relatived to the Aragonese. The "Great Divide" is the thousand years.

    Exactly.

There will always be M2 updates, but soon the Fallout changes to a WW2 game, then some from even earlier era until it reaches medieval and then only the Aragon campaign will go on.

E: For this AAR's story to be longer, before jumping to WW2 i'll play a little battlefield 2 and then jump to WW2. So now it's 2277, next is 2000, then it's 1939-1945, then something, possibly first world war.
