What is your culture status?
2D artist for Call of Warhammer TW; 2D artist for Westeros TW; 2D artist and researcher for The Ruins of Arnor TATW sub-mod; 2D artist for Warcraft TW.
There are event triggers that allow higher level barracks (advanced barracks) to be available for construction. And in your screen shot i think the reason you cannot recruit in this region is because the settlements population has not been converted to your culture (religion) yet. look at the building's scroll that tells you how many percent culture is needed to recruit the units.

I think he has more than enough culture in Osgiliath.
So,Tiederian, after turn 50 you'll be able to recruit all the might of Gondor, save only Fountain Guard, which will be available after turn 100
Ah ok, thanks for the help, i had figured it was either an event trigger or a bug, just wasnt sure so i thought i'd ask![]()
on turn 49 to be precise lol
Turn 49 was in 1.0. It's turn 41 in version 1.1.
fully upgraded city in 48 turns? either gondor is op or someone didn't read the little message at the beginning of the game.
He didn't say fully upgraded city in 48 turns. What he meant is that on turn 49 an event will occur that unlocks tier 2 units. You still have to upgrade to get them, but as Gondor that's not difficult to do, as you start with a Citadel and can quickly take 2 huge cities. If you prioritize military buildings, you'll be ready to start building the buildings that allow recruitment of tier 2 units as soon as this event occurs.
And as I mentioned previously, in 1.1 this event occurs on turn 41, rather than 49.
oh found my answer....wow i was so worried that I would have to conquer Middle earth with only militia and some spearmen...this is welcome news.

this screenshot, you don't have to take my word for it. I will spell it out, bottom right hand corner shows round 48. open building purchase screen shows nothing to build. bottom bar shows fully built everything. the dude has a fully built city in round 48, that is what my first comment was about. He didn't have to say fully upgraded, it is. also in case you think I was responding to your post at first, or the post above yours, I was responding to the one in quotes now.

Yeah, you're right. I thought you were the original poster, so I was responding to you as if you were him. I had forgotten about my remark to you. You're right, he clearly cheated to build his settlement up.
