Default Faction names not in English

What did I do wrong? The rest of the game is in English and the "nation" Rebels in in English. Did I install something wrong or is it supposed to be that way.

Also, FANASTIC mod. This is actually my favorite mod and is how MTW2 should have been out of the box. Simply the best.

I'm afraid that's actually the entire point - the names of the factions are in their native languages to add feeling to the game. So there's nothing - Poland is supposed to be in its Polish name, and Egypt will be called al-Ayyubiyun (or something)...

    That's the way 'tis yo.

English are actually in French/Latin I presume.
DLV means God wills it. in French/Latin, so it makes sence that way.

Milan and Poland is a strange case, but I dont really care that much. I have gotten used to the names since DLV 3.0
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Thanks. I can appreciate the design aspect of this to keep it historical. However, its a little (IMHO) odd since the rest of the text in game is in English. Therefore, the way I would refer to those countries would be in their "English" names. Besides, Ive never even heard of the names before as they are in the game and although I can figure out some of them or will get used to it, I guess as a player, I would prefer they are called by their English name and not in their native tongue. It just seems out of place to me if I may say so. Its like a watching a movie made in English but, when a foreign language is spoken, no subtitles. Dont know if that is the best example.

Is there a way I can change this back in my own game by editing a file? Awesome mod tho.

Though I find the native names a bunch of complete tounge-twisters, I do like the true nature of the names; much more interesting than vanilla. Are there shorter 'nick-names' these native language factions might have for themselves, shorter and snappier for today's generation. My brain 'urts!

In order to change the faction names in DLV you should follow the next steps:
    - Go to your Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext\data\text folder
    - Locate the expanded.txt and open it with notepad or a similar text editor
You will find the names of the factions in the following format:
    {VENICE}Sereněsima Repůblica Včneta
    {SICILY}Royaume de Sicile
    {MILAN}Lega Lombarda
    etc, etc, etc ...
    DO NOT change the names in parenthesis {VENICE}
Edit only the second part {VENICE}Sereněsima Repůblica Včneta
    You should make something like:
    {VENICE}Republic of Venice
    - Save and exit
    - Delete the expanded.txt.strings.bin file located in the same folder
[it will be generated again once you reload the game]
You are ready to play as Republic of Venice.

NOTE: This way you can change anything you like in this file.
ALWAYS remember to delete the expanded.txt.strings.bin or else your changes won't be visble in-game.

    Cheers
    Agis
