The Idea

War in Middle Earth

A community RPG proposal

Hello, here is our proposal for a new Community RPG based on the TATW modification for Kingdoms. The game will be a mixture of role-play and a turn based system using the mod.

Our faction will be Eriador and during the week you will be able to role-play as your chosen character, interacting with the other players. At the weekends we will play the turn, if you are assigned a region you will add units or resources to your region save it and post the save in the forum, then another player will take the save and take their turn, once all turns are completed it is ended until the following weekend.

The Land of Middle Earth is an ideal place for role-playing and we hope you will join us and take part.

The plan looks good to me. We'll leave this open for a few days and see how everyone responds, but beyond that I think we can get this set up.

Sounds interesting, I'd be interested in joining up.. I assume this is like a forum RP on WoW? I used to do those.. did those more than I actually played the game... Anyway I'm curious as to why it has to be Eriador..? Not that I mind but shouldn't there be a choice?

We decided on using Eriador because of versatility. It has the Shire, Angmar is nearby, and you can be whatever race you want. Besides the evil ones. But thats the reason we chose Eriador, really.

I have played my fair share of RPGS where you "act" your character, just seems hard to do in this game lol... maybe i am missunderstanding your method.

Its not hard at all, check out the other RPGS in this forum for the general idea of what this game will be like.

I really think this RPG is going to fail. Since when has the universe created by Tolkien, or even those derivative inspired universes, given rise to an anyway decent RPG? Orcs, Elves and Wizards are just not what RPGs are made for. The day I see a person role play an elf, or any other kind of mythical creature, is the day that I like Leonard Rossiter.

Can you taste the sarcasm?
