Problem installing 1.3 patch & crash issue

I need some support.

First:Trying to patch 1.3 to MTWII, I get an error message about invalid/missing data_2.pack. This same error also happens when trying to install Kingdoms, during the same patch process. 1.2 patch went in without problems on both ways.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64x SP1
AMD Phenom II x4 810
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
4Gb RAM

Secondly Running the game on 1.2 version and loading a siege battle in the tutorial produced an "unspecified error" (WTH is that anyway) and CTD.

If you have Kingdoms you already have Medieval2's patches. Nothing to download.

What other programs do you have installed before and since installing Medieval2? Have modified any files? Do you have any mods installed?

Medieval II is the latest program. Tried to install Kingdoms right after installing MTW proper. Kindoms installation managed to install 1.2, but got an error on installing 1.3. after that I tried patching with the patches from totalwar.com, same end result: 1.2 works, 1.3 returns an error.
No files have been modified.
No mods.

The copy protection called Securom in this game will not let you upgrade any further as long you have Daemon Tools and any drives you have mounted are installed on your computer. The game company considers this usable for piaracy and is not allowed with this game.
