    Icon3 International relations system and reputation system

    Hi,

    I have some ideas:


    1) International relations system
    Is it possible to implement the DOTS system showing international relations between countries? Very well presented it was in the game Europe Uniwersalis II:
    -100 Points - mortal enemy
    100 points - the best ally
    It would help in planning a strategy in the game. Today, you never know when you can expect an attack.

    2) Reputation system
    The reputation system is very bad in vanillia game. How do You plan solve the problem in DOTS (unfortunately I did not find this anywhere)? In many other mods an negative impact on the reputation of all the "illegal" activities such as the use of assasins, spies, destruction of conquered cities, etc. It seems to me a bit too drastic.
    For example, each assasin action ends in two ways:
    - Success
    - Failure
    at each of this two results assasin could be discovered or not. Reputation should only be changed when the assassin or spy is discovered!
    I often protects my cities with my own spies, and detects foreign agents. This should affect the reputation of a hostile country, and our relationship. Of course, in a properly fitting degree.
    Change of reputation the agent's discovery in a city should be less effective than discovered an attempt to kill the king!

    Pagans and Islamists
    You should also take into account the medieval Europe that absolutely destroyed the pagans. Here you can use a solution from the Crusader Kings game where the killing of pagan tribes did not lead to loss of reputation! Similarly, it is appropriate to proceed in the case of Christians - Muslim so that the lesser effect eg killing Muslim army will make smaller loss of the reputation than killing Christians (If You play a Christian Kingdom). This system of course works both ways if you play as a Muslim country.

    yeah it's pretty good. I could just see myself as france making England my bestest buddies in the whole wide world so that I don't need to worry about an invasion from the british isles. Sweet.

    I have to agree with all 3 points. However only the last two can be represented well in the game as far as I know.

    Rest assured this already underway via our Mega Traits project. I personally planned to elaborate on the rep system of vanilla, but later it was dropped.

    is that a submod or a part of DotS?

    Our 'projects' are just a way of dividing workload. The Mega Traits project is an overhaul of the traits system to a new universal and much bigger model, but is basically just the name for the DotS trait system. We do intend to release some of these projects as submods, eg the CMP, but not for a while.
    A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

    A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    o ok... you'll have to make a Royal Military Acedemy page then just to show off your hard work.
