    Default I need some suggestions from the Roma Surrectum faithful.

    I just finished Roma Surrectum and was wondering if anyone could recomend another mod to play while i wait for Roma Surrectum II. I have already played Rome SPQR, and Rome Total Realism. Any suggestions? Do you know any other mods, not just Roman era, that can compare in quality to Roma Surrectum? I'd appreciate the help before i spend time downloading something that might not be good. Thanks!!!

    Unfortunately, now that you've tried RS, it's very difficult to play other mods again.

    I've tried RTR after playing RS and I can tell you that as soon as I saw the map in RTR, I quit and started another RS campaign.
    I like RTR a lot, but... it just lacks that special something of RS without which, at least for me, all other mods now seem boring.

    Try another faction?

    Iberians, Dacians and Carthaginians are all good fun (and have the best skins otherwise) for a Rome player.

    You can never be finished a mod. There is so much to see and do. Play every faction, even the ones you hate to get perspective from all views. Although I have never played the Ptolemaics ever in RTW because I hate them LOL.

    Listen to what others have said, play as factions other than Rome to get a better perspective and experience the fighting styles of other factions to see if they suit your fighting style. Personally, I've started (but not always finished campaigns) with Iberia, Dacia, Pergamum, Gaul, the Greek Cities, Macedonia, Carthage, the Germanc Tribes, and last but not least, Rome. I've found it kind of fun to play as barbarian factions (Iberia, Dacia, Gaul etc.) to experience the horde style of fighting, and in addition to that, they have some pretty powerful infantry and cavalry units when they build more advanced barracks and stables.

    Experiment with different factions, you'll surprise yourself if you play as someone you wouldn't have given a second thought otherwise if all you did was play with Rome.

    Just keep playing RS1.5...

    I do and I never go a turn without being surprised by something.

    Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I will try another faction, most likely the Greeks. I was just curious about the "Troy total war" mod because it seemed to have a lot of emphasis on the Greek city states. It is just very hard for me to play against Rome; i understand the importance of a different perspective in battle tactics. But seriously, i cannot find it in my heart to destroy Rome with the likes of Carthage, Gaul, or the Germanic tribes. I love the Greeks but even then it's hard to face of with my beloved Roman faction. All well. Thanks again!!

    I was VERY reluctant to try another faction besides the Romans...now I find my self loving the Gauls Just stick with em although it can be very hard, but change is good. Also its good to learn new units and be able to explore, instead of knowing exactly what to do because you have done it for 40 campaigns.

    So E + B = R + S + 2 which means that E + B must have x 2 the lag or that R + S + 2 is not yet a complete equation.

    Equations should be this:

    vRS = vEB/3 (seriously I don't think RSI is that great)
    vRS2 = vEB*1.5
    vRS2 = vEB2/2

    Ok guys start answering the op instead of compare RS and EB. We dont want a flame war here and yes there aren't any one now but it can easily change.

    I am just about to start my first RS 1.5 campaign, previously played RTW and done six full campaigns. I downloaded EB and RS at same time and have them installed separately. I played EB first for about a month, but now parked it, a stability issue, don't want to start a flame war. So begins a RS 1.5 campaign, I was toying with the Romans, but should I perhaps try something different, what do you think?
    As for the original OP this mod is an award winner, so I tend to think, that anything else. may not deliver the same enjoyment

    I dont know but I think once you play RS 1.5c it's a little hard to go back to the others. Not to take anything from other mods,there are alot of good mods out there.
