Icon5 Does anyone know how to reduce female birthrate in game?

Hey guys, I'm sorry if it has been asked before...
The situation is all my Seleucid generals have 4 children as I've added some new traits to make them Fertile. But there are so many newborn female babies that makes the family name of my house hard to pass on.
I've tried to delete the female names in data\descr_names.txt, but there were always errors. So is there anyone could tell me how to solve my problem? Many thanks!

I don't think you can change this , unless with some complicated scripts and stuff .. It's, probably hard-coded ..

Well, I've found this in my data\descr_names.txt:
    faction: seleucid

    characters
    ; Abantes
    Abas
    Abascantus
    Abderos
    Aberkios
    Ablerus
    ; Abreas
    Abronychus
    Abydos
    Achaeus
    ; Alexander
    ; Antiochus
    Arsaces
    Attalus
    ; Callinicus
    Demetrius
    Diodotus
    Euthydemus
    Hermeias
    Molon
    Perdiccas
    ; Philip
    Ptolemy
    Seleucus
    Tigranes
; Bob copied these in from the Macedonian list to increase the selection
    Admetos
    Adymos
    Akylos
    Anaksarxos
    Antigonos
    Antiochos
    Antipatros
    Arrhideos
    Argeos
    ......
So I think if somebody could add names for a faction, there is also possibility to delete names... Maybe my opinion is wrong, but I just want to get clear about this problem.

You can of course remove names from the factions' lists in descr_names.txt, just make sure the names are not already in use in descr_strat. Try leaving just enough names so that all the females already existing at campaign start have a different name, maybe the engine won't have new wives if all available names are already taken.

Well, thanks for your kind suggestion.
I forgot to check the female names in descr_strat.txt and maybe that's the direct reason of CTDs... After all, I'm going to try again. Thank you, Aradan~

I've tried again and again, the latest problem is that if I remove some female names and then load my game, the game will run well and use the left names. But there was CTDs if I started a new campaign. Then I restored all the files related to names, and added two Egyptian surnames "Neos Philopator" and "Neos Dionysus" to Seleucid. I'm sure I've matched all three files (descr_names.txt, descr_names_lookup.txt and text\names.txt) truely well, but the CTD still stays. I'm wondering if there is any other files need to be modify?

Changing the number of number of names has no effect on if a baby is a boy or girl.

Thank you Squid, I've just had that idea last night. I tested the game with fewer female names, but the female birthrate was still high... So I think maybe it's something else which do effects on that problem~

Well, the birth of a boy or a girl should be random as I have tested, so simply deleting is not effective.
And by the way, can I add these two egyptian surnames (Neos Philopator and Neos Dionysus) to Seleucid? If so, how should I deal with that?

But is there any other way to reduce the female birthrate?

No, read the second post, its hardcoded, its related to the number of regions and the number of current generals.
