[Star Wars Conquest v0.8] A small favor...

I was just playing some Star Wars Conquest v0.8 and was excited to be able to build clone facilities and raise my own clone army. Once I had a sizable clone army, I decided to break my bond between the Galactic Empire and form my own faction. After some battles, I was starting to lose clones. However, when I traveled to planets who had cloning facilities, I was not given the ability to recruit clones. I waited several days with no luck. So I decided to join the Alliance just to see if the option was available for the main factions only, and I was right.

So my question is:
Do any of you know how to make clones available to independent factions? Is it even possible? I'm not that familiar with modding M&B, but I am able to do some minor scripting (troop trees, items, etc). So, any help would be appreciated.
