    Default Help with loading speed.

    Hi

I've done searches on this topic, and read that you turn the graphics down and turn off shadows, ect., to increase turn speed. Here is what is happening with me, does this sound normal?

Once I finish a battle it takes a long time to load back to the campaign map. And by a long time I mean a long time. For some reason too the campaign map scrolls really slowly. When I hit "End Turn" the game freezes for a while before the other faction logos appear.

I've played a bit with this mod today and think some of the ideas behind it are great, the problems above, especially the long loading after a battle, almost kill all fun for me. I've never had these problems with other mods.

I understand its probably just my computer (1.8Ghz 1Gig ram 256Mb Ati Mobility) and that I am probably clutching at straws because this mod runs slower than others and my computer is yesterdays technology (I can't upgrade for a year or two either..... which means when I do ETW will only be 6 months away from stable )but any advice would be appreciated.

If you turn off your Anit-virus program and anything else you have running in the background it should help a bit. Also make sure you are making the most most of your virtual memory ( Check out your page screen)..

Cheers for the reply mate. I use AVG so I'll shut it down. I use Comodo Firewall too so I'll disconnect and switch it off too. I don't know anything about virtual memory or my page screen so I'll google it

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

    hi!!

look, back when i had only one gig of ram memory it was ultra slow, unplayable.

for each hour of play i had to wait the loading for 20 minutes.

but then i expanded my memory configuration up to 4 gb and it was all just fine loads takes half a minute now.

it is said that if you have 2 gb of ram memory it should load perfectly fine.

1gb of ram memory = around 25usd... maybe less depending on the type of pc you have.

more or less as a good dinner or a movie with your girlfriend at the theatre
