This a corrupted download?

The mods crashing instantly on startup. The loading screen comes up but then almost instantly CTDs. the part1 installer seems to have a normal exe icon( a ehite box) rather then the blue icon of part2. is this normal. It all installs ok without a problem but, well, it dies instantly. Should I download again? It's just that I have a download limit so I'll probably end up goin over it now and have to pay
Just want to make sure it's the download that's the problem before I start it again..Thanks

My part 2 was exactly like the first one, normal exe data...
it sounds like the second part is some kind of damaged - but i'm not sure (am not really a specialist )

ok, cool. I was thinking that part1 might be the corrupted one. Both Part2 and the 1.1 patch have an icon like a little blue harddrive with an arrow over it but part1 is a white box like a little window (as in a windows xp window) you know, like .exe.s normally look.
I've dl'd part1 again and it's the same. I'm thinking now that it's a completely different problem. I cant find another problem like this on the board. I'll try installing this newly dl'd one when I get home. Fingers crossed.

I have the same problem, the game crashing instantly on startup. I downloaded 4 diferent instalers and it doesent work, tried reinstalling the game and used several different 1.5 patches.

Don't be insulted, but have you installed Pt1 and Pt2? Then the hotfix or 1.1 Patch
When was the last time you updated your drivers?
What other MTW2 mods do you have installed?

I have installed part 1 first then part 2 then hotfix. Don't have any other mods. What do you mean drivers?

So you have MTW2, plus Kingdoms installed and patch 1.5(which you don't need).
Have you tried to fire up a Kingdoms campaign?

The drivers, maybe a year ago.
Im not using steam.
Yes i have Medieval2 plus Kingdoms installed and pach 1.5.
All campaigns work normal.

Reinstall DirectX too, as it's connected to drivers.

ok, solved.
It wasn't corrupt at all. I reinstalled everything again and it still crashed.
So, then I uninstalled everything and deleted every trace of m2tw off of my system. And reinstalled and now it works!
I suspect it was something to do with the eras mod I had installed, maybe it altered a file which remained there even after uninstalling.

Also. When Installing kingdoms I noticed that my copy is french. When choosing my language it said (standard) next to the french option. So I installed in french (the mods still all in english so it's ok)
I dont think this french thing will have effected anything but I was clutching at straws and something appeared to work along the way.

Barcrow: maybe some of this applies to you? Good luck getting it working!

I downloaded the files and tried the installing, but it says that the files are "invalid" or "corrupted". I have also tried downloading the same file from another locations, but the problem seems to be same. Anyone knows how to solve this??

Now that does sound like a corrupt file.
I can't see why that would happen then.....
