Re: Mod won't start
I didnt really want to uninstall, but last night I uninstalled RM2 and RTW and then reinstalled RTW but when i tried to apply patch 1.3 it only had the 'modify, customise, remove etc' options it has when its already installed. Also when i tried to apply 1.5 it said '1.5 will only patch your game from 1.3, you can get 1.3 here'. This message mightve come up because 1.3 wasnt the 'latest version', it was - in my case - 1.5, assuming when I reinstalled RTW the patches were on automatically :S
Anyway, I reinstalled RM2, sprites and hotfix, and when i changed the shortcut and tried to open, it went to the hoplite intro screen, then it said 'Error:filename doesnt exist $@!(#;@{$$@ (it had some other random gibberish)"
*sigh* i dont think this is ever going to work...is there any other good but stable medieval mod
EDIT: When i was unzipping the sprites in the RomeMedievalMOD/Data folder (with WinRar) i got a diagnostic error message:
! C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\Desktop\RM sprites 1.2.rar: CRC failed in sprites\RM_Brabant_Mercenary_Sword_man_sprite_000.tga.dds. The file is corrupt
This has actually happened every time ive extracted it...does this mean that the sprites didnt extract at all, or simply that particular file was left out, if so is it important
DOUBLE EDIT!: It works!!
I just got to the main menu after reinstalling everything and carefully applying the hotfixes (also when uninstalling I noticed i had a "the Creative Assembly" folder in my Program Files...this was odd since RTW installed under 'Activision', meaning I must have accidentally created the CA folder when installing RM2...i must say there was some subtle but tricky confusion regarding this matter, so I'm just pointing this out) that said, i may still get errors during gameplay so fingers crossed everything goes to plan!!

Whenever I reinstall RM2 I get error messages about mercenary war elephants which I have to delete from two text files to make the game playable
