Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII
Blackness, darkness, nothingness.

I always had this mental image of that room from Star Treck were you could imagine something and it comes to fruition, that is if it does exist.

If there were a God, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt his existence. --Bertrand Russell
Waiting about dispersed as a bundle of unconscious aggregates of energy until it is finally united enough to take another form.
... So I guess 'waiting about' isn't quite the correct verb for unconsciousness ^.^
This life, but tens of thousands of years from now when the technology has been developed to transfer consciousness forward through time, from the moment of each person's death, into a new vat-bred body. That would be the coollest afterlife I could possibly imagine. It would be like Buck Rogers, but for absolutely everyone who was ever born, and everyone thus resurrected could be put together in temporal-cultural groups and used as colonists for new planets. That would be freaking awesome.

Cluny will roast you on a spit in your own juice...
I was going to say something but what cluny says would be fricken awesome.
but I dont believe in any sort of "afterlife" what you have after death is not life.
Hell. I heard from Scott Ian that Slayer plays center stage. My kind of place. Plus people like Mark Twain will be there for the company. So there will be some good conversations happening.
Pretty much all of lifes interesting people will be in hell.
Nonsense!
I will be in heaven

Something roughly like this life, actually, would be fine. Either that or an eternal anime convention; I'd quite like that.
But that's what I'd like to see; not what I believe happens. I believe in reincarnation; or a modified variant of it.
I'm with Rome here.....we already have those who feast (the obese), those who fight (military) and those who(who doesn't
?) on this earth, in this life. In fact the presence of those individuals of which all three of those "qualities" pertain to would be my ideal of a hell, which would mean this earthly existence with human's presence is much closer to my notion of hell than heaven.

If there was one it will be some form of reincarnation.
