Some questions about SS 6.1

Hey guys

I'm about past 100 turns and its going well. Really enjoying the mod but I have some questions about the campaign as im playing as England.

Here's the situation:
The Teutonic Order (my allies) has no regions anymore. They are driven away by Lithuania (damn them!!). Yet, they are not destroyed. I still see a naval unit of them blockading ports of Lithuania. And one time, they even recaptured Riga (that was awesome!). I tried sending a diplomat to them to give em some money and offer help. But by the time my diplomat arrived, they were defeated again
But again, they are not totally destroyed. They have no regions, only a naval unit again.
1) How can this happen?
2) Does the naval unit have land units on it?
3) If Lithuania (or me) destroy that last single boat (The Ark of Noa....Teutonic).....is the faction Teutonic Order completely destroyed?

Another situation:
France is beaten down to 3 regions.
4) When can I make them my vassal? (Should they have one region left?)
5) Is it hard to make another faction become ur vassal?
Any tips how to get it? Like I should put a lot of stacks on their land and threat them?

ps. I really hope that the Teutonics make another comeback at Riga. I now have two diplomats standing there.....to help them by giving money etc.
Then they can grow big and I will finally get to fight Ritterbruders, best of knights

I've gotten Hungary to become my vassal with 2 territories left, don't be afraid to offer cash to your future vassal, the diplomatic AI will accept vassalage over a ceasefire sometimes even
