Don't Mess With The Zohan
Suppose it was no' bad for a silly comedy, and it had Emmanuelle Chriqui.
Just saw half of Escape to Athena ('starring' Roger Moore and Telly Savalas). It was awful. There was very little plot going on and it made German-occupied Greece look like a holiday resort.
"Star Wars: A New Hope"
Tomorrow will be "The Hidden Fortress" and my review (check the link in my sig) and I shall point out the genius of Kurosawa and what inspirations Lucas used from Kurosawa and "The Hidden Fortress."
And the reason I watched "Star Wars: A New Hope" was because I was exposed to that movie first and I felt I should watch the movie I was exposed to first before I did my review.
I just saw Final Destination 3, it was alright.
I have a problem with movies titled Final Destination having sequels...
The first one was okay. Didn't watch the others.
Bad advertising.
Just saw in the last couple of days...
Zombieland. Quite good as an American equivalent of Shaun of the Dead. Loved the cameo by Bill Murray. Can't wait for a sequel.
Lawrence of Arabia. Missed the first half hour. Can't really see what the fuss is about although it did have its moments. Maybe the book will change my mind.
A Handful of Dust. Proof that you can't adapt a book into a two hour film. After becoming used to 11 miniseries like Brideshead Revisited, it all seemed so rushed. Skipping from scene to scene without any proper warning while cutting out half the plot.
I just saw National Treasure 2, it was actually pretty good.
Just rewatched the special edition of Aliens.
It's one of my favourite movies, but I don't think the extended footage really added much to the overall story.
Still,
Hudson: That's it man, game over man, game over! What theare we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?
Burke: Maybe we could build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

i just saw "coffee and cigerettes"
it is true, iggy pop has a portrait in the attic and tom waits just gets cooler with time
Just saw A Christmas Carol, the 3D animated version voiced by Jim Carrey. It was not what I expected. With it being animated and being a Jim Carrey vehicle, I was expecting a light touch. Boy, was I wrong. It is intense and frightening in spots. It was very well done. I took my 6 year old to it, and I worry it will give her nightmares.

Just saw The Contract with Morgan Freeman. Looked OK but had a bit of a B-movie to it.
Just saw a Mexican movie: Los Caifanes..... dunno about translation.
It was a great movie, thnk of it as a noir, darker, meaner version of American Graffiti.

Currently watching Titanic (1997). I loved this movie to death as a kid (having watched it 33 times) but this is the first occasion for about ten years. I just looked up the cast and it was to my amazement that Bill Paxton - aka Pvt. Hudson from Aliens - is one of the leading stars, though admittedly only for the first 15 minutes.
Just saw Smoochy this morning, I think it is one of the most interesting works from both Edward Norton and Robin Williams, I laughed a lot.

Death to Smoochy was creative and was a rather good film.
Just watched a terrible movie called The Ruins. It's all about killer vines.
