I am interested in discussing the movie, and perhaps we could do it in Mishkin's poll thread if he does not object.

    I watched Passengers.
    The CGI/special effects are great.
But imo the plot is really bloated. Magical survival is rather not good an idea

It is not a very serious thread, you can talk about whatever there and I don't think moderation would have a problem with any Passengers/sci-fi conversation there.

I have no idea why I wanted to see this movie but I did and I feel sorry for myself.
Don't waste any time on it.

    The Putin Interviews

    Fascinating.
Fascinating how this man can lie through his teeth and still keep a straight face.
Fascinating how his delusion is there for all to see yet nobody is doing anything to stop him.

Oliver Stone asks him some difficult questions towards the end which he answers very eloquently, the only way a narcissist can.

    Killers Anonimous

    Not a bad idea.
    Brilliantly bad movie.
    No action, just exposition.
It took 3 people to write a mess that not even Garry Oldman can save.

So I decided to see the Passengers too. Pretty good. If it weren't for you guys, I'd have skipped it.

    Masterpiece.

    I watched The Whale.
Overall, although I wanted to like it coming in, I didn't.
Aronofsky has fallen from grace far ago, and was mocked (rightfully so) for Mother. This isn't a disaster of the scale of Mother, it's not even a disaster at all, but it's not good either.

Haven't watched the Whale yet, but IMO there's a lot of misconception about Mother, which is an allegoric movie.

How was Fraser's acting? That's the only thing I'm really curious about, honestly.

Mother was how you don't do allegory, it was (imo) the opposite of subtle, and a ruin
(that it was allegoric, was clear, though!)

Fraser is ok. But the plot doesn't work, in my view. It's not a bad movie, it's just not good enough to serve as enabling the director to bounce back from the disaster that was Mother.

    Pineapple Express (2008)

It had a few good ideas but it dragged too much for me.

The Last of US imo shows that the zombie genre is just used up by now. Repeating the same plots shown tens of times in recent years.

A bunch of wackos arrive at a cabin in the woods and announce apocalypse.
No, it's not my last vacation.
    It's M.Night's latest movie.

    Knock at the Cabin

Dave Bautista saved the entire film.

That's great to know, because he really deserves proper recognition as an actor.

Indeed Bautista is awesome. Far better than most "professional" actors, imo.
The movie was ok, due to him. Ending was rather bad though.
