I bunked into the cinema to watch that. It was AA (15) - Rated and I would have been 13. Years later, when I was in my 20's, and working in animation, I met a guy called Dave Elvin, who had worked on it. You're right, Heavy Metal' (and 2000AD) the comics (and movie) were a huge influence on modern sci-fi and graphic novels.

Ahhh what a blast from the past. I was like 10 when I first watched the movie, it took me a lot to forget some of it

    Snitch (2013)

Nice to see Dwayne Johnson not as a big action man for a change.

Have been a fan of Rock since childhood. So happy he totally became one of the most successful actors. Him and Arnie are my inspiration.

Escape From Alcatraz: Cool movie, I generally don't watch old movies but I think I'm starting to like the old cimenatography style and lack of hyper soundtrack & effects in the background. Storyline is also awesome. But nothing has beaten Shawshank Redemption for me.

I remember seeing that Snitch movie right as Rock was becoming THE action star. Jesus how did that come out almost 10 years ago?

    All of Us Are Dead

A great Korean series about teens & zombies.
They did super well with an over-used theme, I might add.

With quite a lot of heart, cried a few times (extremely manly tears, I might add)
    Main themes: Friendship & Love & Self-Sacrifice

However, I have a few complaints:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    1. Bullets don't work under water (come on now, folks!)
    2. Why don't Archer Chick Jang Ha-ri & Company recover all their arrows after use? Those things don't grow on trees, you know.
    3. Why don't they just give Nam-ra the baseball bat and send her out so she can finish the zombies one by one, by herself? The undead clearly register her as one of their own, she won't be in great danger.
    4. Why didn't Lee Chong-San take out Yoon Gwi-nam's second eye? I know, it sounds callous, but in a fight there are no rooms for morals.
    5. Why is Nam-ra in such a good shape at the end? What was her diet? Dead bodies & squirrels?
    6. Why don't we see Lee Byong-Chan as the Super-Zombie-Mastermind again? It looked like he was quite menacing, dangerous and interesting.

Other than that, it was great.
    10/10.

    Kitoboy

    A very melancholic film.
I'm still not sure if the main character reached America or not.
    Kinda surrealist ending.
Kristina Asmus was interesting but it will be Marina Chuprinskaia that haunts my dreams.
Good performance from the main guy

    Moonfall.

Take a script with completely preposterous apocalyptic disaster movie premise, strip out all the filler and only leave in the explanatory and funny bits. Chuck every ounce of GCI you can find at it, add aliens.

    Go......

From Prince of Diamonds to Homeless King.
This was way more entertaining that I thought it would be. Especially towards the end.

Seven characters and only one tank? As a seasoned old school DM I would regretfully tpk their arses and hope they learned their lesson.

Take LoTR as a basic party build. Wizard, Paladin, Fighter x2, Ranger, two low level rogues to protect the VIP and his servant.

Glad you enjoyed it, I look forward for a second season. Well Percy is basically the protagonist of this first season, but I honestly find him a bit too much mangaish (is that even a word? ). Nha Scanlan is definitely my pick

No one wants to play tanks anymore, the Gods know why.. I always loved a good tank, my idea of "not a tank" is the Cleric, I don't go farther than that

Millennials. Every one wants to be something kooky like a drow ranger for some reason, something about some dopey novels? I made a point of cloudkilling Drzzt in Baldur's gate every time I played.

In other news, I just saw the last episode of Community. I see why its a cult show, season 1 was wobbly but 2-5 were sound. 6 was trash, very sad. US comedy at its best is sharp, referential and skittish, and at times this is it.

Thank you, I simply don't have the sequential blocs of time required. I have two mates pestering me to run sessions again but their availability is probably more curtailed than mine, and they want to be players. They want me to be the rules expert as well as DM, and haven't played for between 10 and 30 years. I thought 2nd ed was poor, 3.5/Pathfinder is OK but I have to learn then new systems.

My rule of thumb was an hour of prep for each two hours of playtime. A session is only worthwhile if its 4-6 hours in my view. I can't dump Cyclops Jnr on Mrs Cyclops for 6+3 hours a week for two dudes who don't like each other and who may bail on me because work took them to Africa this week.. If I win the lottery that may change.
