    A Most Violent Year 2014

    Hell of a movie.
Can't get enough of Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac.

Viggo is a top notch actor. It's a shame Hollywood didn't make enough movies with this master actor.

    The Power of Dog

This film is long like a Faulkner novel.
Good thing I don't like cowboys.
    Great performance from Benedict Cumberbatch.

    The Last Duel

Bit of a Rashomon vibe going on here.
Especially with them 3 different 'truths'.

Gotta say, I am not disappointed.
    What I liked:

-Le Gris & Count Pierre's friendship: those guys were hilarious
Wish one day I will meet a rich debauchee as my friend & companion
    -the duel scene

    What I disliked:
-that idiotic half-helm (what the hell were they thinking?)

By the way, this wasn't the last historical duel.
    Far from it.

    Also,
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
are we all going to ignore the fact that Marguerite is carrying Le Gris' bastard child?
    I found that detail interesting.

    Silent Night

What a piece of postmodernist, nihilistic trash.
    I've rate it a 1 on IMDb.
    The plot is idiotic.
The characters are decent but their choices are not.

The twist at the end... you see it from a mile away.
From the middle of the movie, if you have half of a functioning brain.

    Avoid, at all costs.
Man, did this made me angry!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

You mean to tell me that the Government would more likely issue cyanide pills to the populace instead of gas masks and air purifier tablets?!
    Are you freaking kidding me?!!

    Superman and Lois.

Sentimental rubbish, isn't that always the problem with Superman. !
Never known Superman to get so many beat downs.
Okay for a rainy weekend binge watch.

Superman and Lois is one of those crappy CW superhero shows. Why not watch Lois and Clark instead? It is basically just the classic Superman but in the 90's.

I didn't watch a lot of it as a kid. But Smallville seemed like one of the only truly decent CW shows. It wasn't great by any means but it was serviceable. I tried watching some of these other shows, and did watch Superman and Lois, it was average at best if not below average.

I did watch Lois and Clark, that was terrible too. Smallville was okay, but similar to Ish, just caught it now and then.

I remember enjoying it at the time, though I was a kid when I watched it. Not sure it would stand up if I watched it again. I remember Lois and Clark being very good though.

Watched "Power of the Dog" a day or two ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. Amazing acting out of every single person in the cast. Plimmons was amazing as always and it was nice to see him in a non-psycho role for once, and cool to see him act alongside his wife again (they were so ing good in Fargo). Smit-McPhee was surprisingly good too, pretty crazy to think he also played The Boy in The Road.

I think the one thing maybe helping Smallville stand the test of time a little bit even if a lot of the way it’s filmed is dated now, is that the CW has been on a constant path to being more “CW-ier” over time. It looks better in comparison even for all its faults because the teen drama cheese at the network has grown exponentially and lowered the bar greatly. It’s still probably not great by modern standards but at least watchable

    Synchronic

    Perfect movie.

Great writing, great acting, great characters, great camera work.
I don't know what to say about this.

Friendship, true friendship, is hard to capture.
    This film accomplishes that.
    Oh, perfect ending too.

    Omerta 6/12 (2021)

I missed about 10 minutes from the beginning because my car battery died because of cold and I had to cycle to the cinema.

Still, I enjoyed it. It had high-enough tempo and situation changes, so it didn't get boring.

Lois and Clark was one of the better 90's shows. The whole point is that it is a callback to the old Superman. It isn't action heavy but if you want that much action on a TV budget you can watch... yeah I got nothing.

Took me a minute, didn't really watch a lot of TV in the 90s. But, Stargate, Buffy/Angel, X-Files, Quantum Leap. Farscape/Lexx if I could keep awake that late.

I did not watch Xena or Hercules.
