Girls und Panzer das Finale - Chapter One

As the upperclass(wo)men are applying to their colleges, Momochan finds that universities find her application somewhat lacking, so the Senshado club decide the secret ingredient would be the commander of a successful tournament team, and nominate her as their puppet panzerfuhrer.

Inexperience, bad intelligence, and the need not to undermine their leader's confidence, finds our heroines in a tight situation against the French, who may not be such incompetent surrender monkeys after all.

While the anime remains as entertaining as always, with that nine on the stereotype dial now turned all the way upto eleven, it may have jumped the shark (or at least rolled down it's back) on what's plausible for that particular universe.

    Well worth watching.

Yes, really liked the pilot episode. Also if you haven't seen Bosch then i would highly recommend this show as well. Very well written and intense. Binged watched all 4 seasons in 4 days.

I'm jealous. Gomorrah is in my top ten all time TV shows. Would love to be watching it from the start.

    Polar.

This is not John Wick... Though it shares a plot of over the top shady companies of assassins taking on a lone wolf. The whole thing could have been awful, but Mads Mikkelsen can act the crap out of the ingredients on a cornflake packet. So what you get is a mix of over the top characters, action and some quality acting.

    Odd but fun...

Finished both seasons of Hand of God. Season 2 was much better than 1. Also liked the way they ended things since Amazon had decided they won't shoot further seasons for it.

Don't watch the trailer, it gives away too much and doesn't do the movie justice....

Excellent lo-tech sci-fi in the mold of District 9/Annihilation.

    Loaded Weapon 1

I guess the jokes were outdated.
Just felt quirky and awkward at times.
    So awkward.

Oh, but near the end of the movie, this happens:

Kinda makes up for all the bad jokes.

    13 Minutes

Everything in this movie happened for real.
Question: how can so many people can fail at assassinating one guy, so many times?
    Makes you wonder.

suspiria: it's made in 2018, yet it really feels it's been made in in the 60s or 70s, It made me feel younger, being a teen and watching a horror movie on the vhs. Good for the personal nostalgic feeling but not that good as a movie, the ending is just as bad as they were back then.

Yeh, that's a fairly unique one.

So many funny characters, the cops little story before fighting the step dad. I was in fits....

    I really gotta catch up.

Mortal Engines - Loved the trailer, liked sets and the special effects, and the cinematography was okay.

It seems a combination of Star Wars, Bride of Frankenstein and Lost Horizon, and maybe Mad Max, and if you add the cloak, the shades, and martial arts, the Matrix. You have to wonder what genius Lucas has in that a mafia slug has more charisma than the entire cast of this movie; they certainly don't have any chemistry together.

The whole comes off as plagiaristic, snd yet incredibly uninspired; Weaving seems the only one of the primary actors who manages to come across as authentic, the rest like it's their first gig. I'd say that the production team has to bear the blame, for not writing a better script, and then keeping a tighter control of the filming, because the end result feels very disjointed, despite the predictability as to how the plot and story should go. It makes you almost grow fond of Jar Jar.

The geography doesn't make sense to me, even if you just close an eye on the physics involved.

    I'm disappointed, and that's a pity.

You can watch it for the special effects, but that's about it.

I thought it was okay. Agree it’s a mash up of a ton of other movies and ideas...

It's better than John Carter, and I'd skip through that again for the eye candy.
