    Generation Kill.
It was pretty good, I especially liked the actors who played the Godfather, the Iceman and Ray Person.

I'm also watching The Pacific at the moment, and I'll probably move on to Generation War next. I've already seen Band of Brothers twice.

A Star Is Born - It's really Cooper's movie, and I'd expect him to get nominated for best actor and director categories.

It's an interesting movie, for one where it's known how it has to end. Lady gaga puts in a spirited and competent performance, and Elliot gives the plot some nuance.

    Worth a watch.

    The Witch.

I’d seen this before and thought it ok but boring. Watched it again last night and found it pretty good. You have to immerse yourself in horror sometimes or the tropes and cliche’s become too annoying. There very little actual horror in The Witch, and one obvious trope, old woman with her back to camera. Creepy music is really the only element that lets you know something is wrong with what you’re seeing. Until the last night when the family finally cracks. Overall, better than I remembered.

Outlaw King - out today on Netflix

Having read the story of The Bruce some years ago I was really looking forward to this. It didn't disappoint however I do feel it would have been better made as a series or even as a planned trilogy.

It was pretty good historically, some small points like Edward II was not actually at Loudon hill, Longshanks actually died after the battle had taken place as well as a lot missed out especially between Methven and Loudon hill. most of what was in there was good though and the film looks great.

    Hoping for a sequel.

    HALLOWEEN

    He's back.
    And he's better than ever.
This one had all the good stuff of the original inside it and then some!
You see, Hollywood? This is how Horror should be made.
    Enough with remixes and rehashing!

Pay respect to the original and give something new. Simple!
Don't expect your moviegoers to be stupid. Because they're not.
They appreciate quality when they see it.

The Box-Office numbers alone prove this.

Kin - Decently acted and directed, but low budget would appear to have handicapped a clear story line and execution.

Kid finds a super weapon, and learns how to connect with his family.

It's worth a watch if you have nothing else to do.

I saw that, felt like the pilot to a series. Not sure if the bad guys were a bit too realistic for the rest of the movie. If they took out all the sci-fi stuff it could have still been an okay plot, maybe even better.

    Ghostbusters

    Classic still.
Some of the jokes got stale, though.
This is what happens when you watch a movie 100+ times.

    The Predator

    What a loss of time.
    And DNA.

    Titans

    - Episode Two

    They're all birds, geddit?

I think the producers needed a sassy black girl, and it obviously wasn't going to be Raven, despite being gray. By any stretch of the imagination, her character profile isn't Starfire's, and being willing to jump into the sack was sort of retconned into canon in later comics.

The series just speeds right through whatever you might call exposition, which makes you wonder what they have reserved for the second season.

    Well worth watching.

    - Go To The Movies

Well, he sort of got his own television series.

It's kinda funny, and makes fun of superheroic tropes, and further develops the theme of Robin trying to find a separate identity.

I like the ending, but the song numbers are crap.

    It's worth a watch.

    The Fox and the Hound

Cute. Was expecting to be more dark.
    But it wasn't.
    Girlfriend loved it.

    Slender Man

    Meh.
    Hoped for something more gorier.
Teens are dramatic and annoying as hell.

    Colossal

    Original.
And kinda simple, at the same time.
    Hate Anne Hathaway

    These Final Hours

    Really nice.
    Depressing as hell.

    Kinky Boots

    Finally, a transvestite done right.
Manages to compete with Tim Curry in the Rocky Picture Horror Show.
    Girlfriend recommended this.

    Double Whammy

    Bad.
    This one was bad.
Don't know why I watched this.
Not even Buscemi, Leary & Elisabeth Hurley can relieve this mess.

    Ferdinand

    Nice.
    Girlfriend got taste.
    Landscapes extremely well-done.
    The goat was annoying

    Gladbeck

The hostage crysis that embarrassed an entire Germany

    The 10th Victim

Hunting humans before The Purge made it cool.
Ursula Andress is Swiss, not Swedish BTW.
    Quirky and sometimes amusing.

    Cute but still...
We're going to destroy ourselves in nuclear war so...
It's unrealistic to have such expectations.

    Bird Box.

    Intense apocalyptic movie.

Netflix with another bits of movie. Bits of 'The Crazies,' A Quiet Place' and 'The Happening.'

Well acted (John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes and Sandra Bullock). Never slows down and never dumb. People start committing suicide en-mass when they see invisible 'somethings.' Told in the present and five years past, some nice touches keep it interesting and different from the movies it draws from.

    I Think We're Alone Now

    Pretty decent post-apoc flick.
Really like the 'I'm Alone' feel.
Still, they would've had a heavily armed militia guarding that city.
    Just sayin'.

Somebody needs to punch Peter Dinkalage.
Always wanted to see that in a movie.

Perhaps it will happen in the next GoT season.

    Assassination Nation.

Better than I thought it would be, but could have been even better. Dark social commentary with some snappy dialogue and reasonable acting from the cast. It falls a bit short of being really good when they seemed to not work from a plot/script towards the end and it went a bit amateur dramatics....

    Green Book.

A feel good movie for Christmas. Funny and moving tale of two very different men becoming friends. Mortensen and Ali are both excellent. It's full of cliche and probably won't win Mortensen that elusive Oscar but it's good at what it set out to be.

Bad Times at the El Royale.

A master class in making a movie that's not what you think it is but is way better than the movie you thought you were going to see. If Tarantino hadn't 'ripped off' pretty much every movie he's made he could accuse this of being a rip off of his movies. Clever, dark..........
