At least they got the Greats right.
And Holden is still the same whispering narcissist & Tench has the same Space Marine hairdo & Dr Wendy Carr is as sassy, classy & arrogant as ever.
The old gang is here and we get a lot of talk and talk but no actual results.

Meanwhile, the Boring Tech Klutz is still running around, free in the neighborhood.
Perhaps they'll get him in season 90.

Because hell, hell is for children

It is quite bizarre that they have Dennis Rader (BTK) as the background killer, considering I am just not seeing this show continuing for enough seasons to reach the 21rst century. Unless they have some vast time gap. More realistically, they will cut it off with some supposed cliffhanger.

    X-Men: Dark Phoenix

This is a generic mess, Sansa Stark doesn't die and Hugh Jackman is sorely missed.
Even Magneto can't save the show.
    'There's always a speech.'
Yeah and there's always a generic alien race, of generic dudes, easily defeated by our main men (AND WOMEN OKAY? WE'RE NOT CHANGING THE FREAKING NAME OKAY?!).
This movie didn't need to be done.
Also, all that alternate universe BS sounds to me like covering up bad writing.
    Heh.

    The Seagull

This is a movie about a bunch of people who are in-love with someone else.
Literally, every character loves someone who doesn't love them back, you know, like in real life.
    Worth the watch.

    Sonatine 1993 by Beat Takeshi,
Interesting artsy film about a Yakuza clan who get sent on a suicide mission to Okinawa. It's moody as hell and isn't a fraid to tug at the heartstrings. Well worth watching.

Battles without Honor and Humanity 1973
A film about the start of a Yakuza family in Hiroshima after the war. The family starts united, but ends up tearing itself apart through in-fighting and greed. Excellent film as well for anyone interested in Japanese organised crime, although quite gory.

Succession TV series: caricatical and sarcastic look at the upper class, surely based on the Murdoch media empire. The humour is a little reminiscent of the office. I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes and had great expectations for the rest, unfortunately it only partially delivered. Good fun still...

Yellowstone with Kevin Costner, it's a cowboy/business soap opera. I do recommend to avoid...

    The Dead Don't Die

    This was interesting.

No strong female hero, no final girl, no oblivious characters getting themselves killed.
Definitely tried to be new (meta comments here & there).

But man! that beginning is slow.

I've seen it, nice movie; I love Murray and there are plenty of great actors; IMO the overall result is good even if not stellar for one like Jarmusch, it's a halfway parody for all the modern time zombie movies/series, the main thing is that they don't seem to be scared at all by zombies and certainly it's full or references from the classic horror

Yeah, it's not something amazing by any stretch of reality.
    It had its moments.

    True Detective: S03

Not since Lethal Weapon, have we seen such a real, heart-to-heart friendship come alive on the screen between cops of different color.
Racial undertones aside, this got me so invested that I had to binge watch it until the end.
The end, in itself, was surprising.
Definitively not what you're hoping for.

    Brightburn

I had high hopes for this one.
I don't know if it delivers. All the cheap scares were spoiled by the trailer.
And it brings nothing new to the table.
    What if Superman were bad?
    So what?

I like it when evil wins, but do it with style, you know?
    Kid had no class.

    He was convincing, though.

    Into the Abysss 2011

    Hard to watch.
Harder than any horror movie out there.
    Depends where you stand, really.
    You pro or against it?

I've watched about 8 episodes so far, but I've started watching "Santa Clarita Diet" on Netflix. I'm having a blast, Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are great.

Also I recently watched Auralnauts' Star Wars Episodes 1-6 redub and they're pretty amazing.
They completely change all of the characters (eg turning midichlorians into heroin and the Jedi into stoners) and craft a great overarching plot.

Have you guys seen any of the episodes?

    Saw Old Boy.
I suppose the movie was one of his hypnotic trances?

    Yeah.
And don't tell me you saw the twist-ending coming because I don't believe you.

    Spiderman: Far from Home

    Cons:
Ethnic Mary Jane. No, just no.
Nick Fury being fooled by a guy in a suit. Seriously? I thought he'd have some experience with suited wackos by now.
    Mysterio's death. Really anticlimactic.

    Pros:
    Aunt May. Oh yes.

I won't see it, but if I would it'd be just for

    Prosecuting Evil

A sobering view of a tough little Jewish guy from Transylvania who prosecuted nazis.
Also a reminder that these horrors may happen again.

    Driven

    Awesome film.
Lee Pace as John DeLorean was hypnotic.
I love how he embodied the character, how much weight he gave to the man.
The charisma, the passion when he spoke about cars.
Hell, I hate cars but he made me wanna buy a DeLorean.

    One day, friends, one day.

The spy: interesting story, but poor writing and mediocre acting spoils it

crawl: provides cheap thrills, not memorable

    The trailer looked promising.
In the end, it's like The Strangers meets Signs
