I liked it and im not old. But to be honest, Scorsese has done way better films, of this kind.
Still Al Pacino is always a joy to watch.

    Whatchmen

    What a ride!
    What a finale!

    HBO keeps classy
Reminds me of a time when GoT was surprising & inspiring
Honestly i didn't liked it. the Whole show feels convoluted, and gave me a pseudo artsy vibe. Also the theme felt boring to me. Didn't like this Dr. Manhattan either.
Jeremy Irons though. He is always great.

maybe I am forgetting something but with The Boys has been the best tv show this year. (Fantastic original soundtrack too, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross).

    Freaks.

The kind of superhero movie that Scorsesse would like. 8/10, (Bravery and imagination give extra points).

    Zombieland: Double Tap

    Meh, two things:

    1) Pacifists during zombie apocalypse make me want to kill myself.
    2) Bill Murray at the end makes it all worthwhile.

Same old jokes, same old Tallahassee.

    JoJo Rabbit.

Very funny, pretty much the WWII movie Python didn't make. Brilliantly written and acted, especially the child actors, JoJo's friend 'Yorki' steals every scene he's in.

Watchmen was great and provocative, even if the end is kind of eh? Unlike the Mandalorian which was middling and boring at it's best: Oh look! Cowboy starwars! Lets shower it with praise!

The mandalorian wasn't meant to be provocative. It is a live action cartoon. It seems to work for what it is. And that is fine.

Not everything that is provocative is great from my experience. I felt the watchmen was pretentious at times.

I had more fun watching the boys on that front. Even with all its faults.

The Mandalorian is nothing, it's a nothing show. People like it cause it's a cowboy with a boba fett helmet doing "star wars" things. Perhaps it's an example of what Star Wars was always supposed to be, but then it just ilustrates why star wars doesn't deserve any of the cult like following it has.

You: romcom between a stalker and his prey. It's surprisingly entertaining.

"Maximilian and Marie de Bourgogne" and it was amazing, can someone recommend something similar?
"Blessed is he who learns how to engage in inquiry, with no impulse to hurt his countrymen or to pursue wrongful actions, but perceives the order of the immortal and ageless nature, how it is structured."
    Euripides

"This is the disease of curiosity. It is this which drives to try and discover the secrets of nature, those secrets which are beyond our understanding, which avails us nothing and which man should not wish to learn."
    Augustine

    No.
    But I can recommend:

    Castle Rock

Season 2 way, way, waay better than Season 1.
    Extraordinary case study on schizophrenia.
    Ending was perfect.

Lizzy Caplan is an extremely gifted actress.
Good to see her perform beyond that dizzy girl from Cloverfield.
She was convincingly annoying all throughout.

And Elsie Fisher really does have bushy eyebrows.
    Very bushy eyebrows.

Harriet: interesting story, but it's impossible to tell it in 125 minutes without using cliches and shortcomings in the script. Feels like a good made-for-TV movie when it would deserve a TV series

    Messiah - Netflix.

I liked it. The idea of a second coming has all sorts of potential and Messiah does well to delve into some interesting ideas around modern politics and anti establishment conspiracy, Jesus was a rebel and they look at what that means today. Acting is solid, doesn't get to wishy washy over theism and keeps the 'is he/isn't he' mystery going without tipping either way. Sub plots and flashback character development gets you invested in all the characters without distracting from the main plot.

Caused quite a ruckus on social media, which gives the show some added weight. The marketing team couldn't have bought that kind of advertising.

    Worth a weekend binge watch.

If you are after the political intrigue, then try "I, Claudius", it's a little dated visually but the plot is still quite good.

Rolph Harris is an acquired taste imo.
The borgia was not for me

I gave up quite early on Victoria and Catherine the great, if you like Downton abbey then you might enjoy those

I don't know anything yet about the white queen/princess, the tudors, reign and the hollow crown.

    The

He did it. He didn't do it. He did it.
That's all I could think of.

The conclusion at the end works two ways. Too bad a man can't be both guilty and not-guilty at the same time.

    The Mandalorian

    Liked it.

I did feel that at the end, there were no real stakes involved and no one of the main cast was in any real danger.
However, all in all, it's a great addition to the Star Wars saga.
    Basically, western in space.

Which is what Star Wars is btw.

Top boy: both 2011 and 2019, compelling story and a welcomed different narrative than the usual US drug shows. Good show. Italy has Gomarrah, the UK has this one.
