The Odd Family: Zombies for Sale

    This movie contains:

    A vegetarian zombie.
    A zombie rave party.
A romance between living & undead.
A crooked family & a baby born in unusual circumstances.
An uncle who really, really needs to go to Hawaii.

    Enjoy.

    The Nightshifter

The dead always have a story and Stenio's wife won't shut up.
    Pretty basic.

    The Gentlemen

    A bit weak.
Maybe I'm not so much into Matthew McConaughey anymore.
Or I simply wanted to see the Chinese win.
    Or the Russians.

The animated Lord of the Rings from 1978. Not all of it, because i coudnt force myself. Compared to Peter Jackson's its really bad.

    A birth on the border.
A bunch of women firing AK 47's.

    Enjoy.

    Tough one to watch.

    The Outpost

Best war movie I've seen since Saving Private Ryan.
Weird part is that it was all true.

It felt too crappy not to be true.
(the bad command decisions, the indefensible position etc.)

    The Head

    Cold & intense.
Nobody expected the twist at the end.
I mean, it's just one of those series you have to binge until the end.
Because in the Arctic, no one can hear you scream.

    Train to Busan 2.

Them Korean lads know how to make a Zombie movie.. The first movie was pretty great, the second is less original plot wise but they throw the proverbial sink at it. Tokyo Drift/Thunderdome/Zombies. Mental.

    AVA.

Rubbish; not sure how they managed to get together an a-list cast for such a by the numbers movie. Maybe it looked better on paper.

Mortal: the Norwegian Akira, there are big holes in the scenario, but there is also some really good parts.

    When They See Us

Murica: land of the freely... accused.

    Brilliant.
    Powerful stuff.

Fourth Episode made me ball my eyes out.
A man is truly free inside his own mind.

    Quarantine playlist

    TV shows:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Stranger

The season usually starts off with a series of events that snowball later on. I really enjoyed it. They recently kicked off the second. Great chemistry between the protagonists (police and prosecutors apparently have overlapping yet separate investigative responsibilities in Korea) makes for a gritty yet uniquely human procedural.

    Voice

Two cops’ fates intertwine when their lives are upended by the same serial killer. This one requires suspension of disbelief on one major theme, no more than an episode of Sherlock. A sustainably fast paced and emotionally compelling procedural.

    Bad Guys: City of Evil

Wounded, dying, grizzled veteran cop to the dozen gangsters surrounding him, guns drawn:

“What the is this?? America?? Let’s fight like men!!”

    Vikings:

“I am not satisfied with this. Odin gave his eye to acquire knowledge. I would give far more.”

    One Piece

"I don't wanna conquer anything. It's just that the person with the most freedom on the sea is the Pirate King!"

    Movies

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

“The one who kills many in war is a hero ... but the one who saves even one life is god.”

    Gunjan Saxena

I watched this because I was bored and had no expectations going into it. I came away feeling inspired.

    Pee Mak

A romantic comedy as heartfelt as it is emotionally compelling.

    The Great Battle

5,000 Koreans, 200,000 Chinese, based on the true story. Very re-watchable.

    The Siege of Jadotville

Rene Faulques: You do realise that you are outnumbered by a factor of twenty.

Pat Quinlan: I see a lot of dead men here. None of them are mine.

Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII

    Da 5 Bloods

Spike Lee is becoming waaay too preachy for my taste.
    Maybe I'm getting old.

    This movie contains:

    -an unnecessarily hot French girl
-an unnecessarily long Breaking of the Fourth Wall
    -an unnecessarily evil French guy

Really, we get it, Spike Lee.
    You're black. Okay.

I grew up a few hours from here, so this one's pure nostalgia for me.

    It's a Hard Truth Ain't It

    Impactful.
    Nice animation.
Makes you think about the decisions we make in life.
    Glad I'm not in prison.

    #Alive

Koreans really know how to make zombie movies.
    This one delivers.
Simple plot, not overly ambitious nor groundbreaking.
A perfect movie for pandemic times.

    Seoul Station

    Well, this was depressing.
Tension builds up throughout the movie and even though it's animated, there is good characterization in this.
If you survive that grim dark conclusion, you will enjoy it.
    That twist at the end.
    Damn...

    Barry

    Brilliant.
If Breaking Bad was funny and mixed with Dexter + You.
    Funny and well put together.
You know, like none of my ex girlfriends.

    Haunting.
    True story too.

    Documentary is even creepier.

I am Not Ok with This

    No, really, I'm not.
Syd is like, the most annoying person in the world.
Lacking initiative & imagination, constantly putting other people down without accepting ANY responsibility for her actions.
    Yeah, she's a tween.
    But an annoying one.

Stanley Barber was my guy. Completely cool dude.
He tried to make things better too, even though his home-situation wasn't ideal. At least, he tried, man.
    Unlike Syd.

    Cool Hand Luke

    Back when movies were books.
This is like a Faulkner novel.

Incredible performances from Paul Newman and George Kennedy.
    This one's a keeper.

    The Verdict

Surprised that Paul Newman didn't win an Oscar for this performance.
It was a tough role, in a tough place, in a tough story.
    Brilliant.

    However, I liked Luke more.

    The Floating Castle

Rare do you see a movie with virtuous commanders on both sides of a siege.
