    Default Ancient Antioch

I hope this is the correct place to put this question I was wandering if there was anything left of this city. I looked it up on wikipedia but i don't trust it that much, figured there would be people here with lots more knowledge than on wiki. But one thing that was distrubing to me (if it is true) that i seen on wiki is that modern day Turkey is distroying what is left of it in expansion on the modern city does anyone know if that is true? Thanks in advance for anyone that takes time to answer and I'm sorry if this is the wrong area for this question.

p.s. sorry for any spelling errors i'm at work and have to type quick.

Srsly, why would they do that? I think such cities are protected by UNESCO and Turkey could make good use of them (for tourism).

Anticoh is one of the most awesome cities in Turkey with all it's historical things in it....and the population of the region is better(economically, educationwise) compared to many other parts of Turkey.
There'd be lots of people complaining in Turkey if somebody was destroying it.....but there are none about Antioch. Still if there is such an issue, I'll go kick their arse.

Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

The four great pillars of Christianity were: Rome, Antioch, Alexandria, Constantinople.
Of these only Rome remains, all the rest were taken by force by the Muslims and converted into islamic cities.

I'm no Christian, but it is Damn shame.

Weren´t it five pillars? Jerusalem was also one of the Patriarchates. They were all equal to any other.

Antioch's being destroyed? That's terrible for the cultural heritage of the world, regardless of religion.
