Default RAP, HIP HOP, DANCE. Will they ever be as good as ROCK??

I hear a lot of Rap, Hip Hop and Dance over the course of my life and i have never really been swayed. I even have a tolerance for some good pop. Will these genres ever be as great as Rock? and will it always be teeny bopper music? to fit in with people?

So is Rap " Retards attempting Poetry"? or is there more to it? And Hip Hop? dance?

    what do YOU think.

    Hip hip...

I predict this topic will take off as well.

Anyway, I doubt they will ever 'replace' rock, what do you mean by 'replace' anyway?

Different people like different genres. There's never been a point where everyone liked Rock, and that will continue to be the case; likewise, there will always be people who do like rock.

Good music is not tied to its genre.

    Exactly!

Are you talking about rap replacing rock as the major mainstream genre?
I really liked rap when I was younger but I grew away from it. But I still listen to old school rap from time to time (not much though ). But nowadays it's just completely ******' awful.

There's plenty of good, inventive rap. Even now, not just the old stuff.

Why does one genre of music have to replace another? If you don't like Hip Hop then don't listen to it. Nothing's replacing anything, it can all coexist alongside each other. Will Heavy Metal ever replace Trance?

Personally if we're talking rap I'll have to mention The Game, who always produces some pretty good melodic stuff. Older song of his:

I have approximate answers and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I’m not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don’t know anything about. But I don’t have to know an answer. I don’t feel frightened by not knowing.

They are really good. They were featured on the first Gorillaz album, that's when I first heard about them.

DJ Shadow's "Endtroducing" is a GREAT hip hop album. Just instrumentals.

No. Primitive popular music never lives on. It will be 30 years from now, noone would remeber what the hell r'n'b was, but everyone would still know who Jim Morrison or Ozzy were.

Rhythm and Blues(R&B) has been around since the 40's.

...but then again a friend of mine thought R&B stood for Rap and Beat lol.
