Default Should the U.S. pull its troops from around the world?

The US has military bases all over the world, but alot of people think that they should bring the military home and just worry about self defense.

    what is your opinion?

I thought that the reason the U.S.A had all these troops around the world was self defence?

Yes, when the USA does this it will retract it's influence on the world and quicken its demise.

Yes, they should. They should definetly leave Europe and Japan at least.

They killed over 100 of their own soldiers here by mistake, then dumped garbage everywhere before leaving. Really interesting people!

    Nothing like setting up WWIII.

I've got a better idea. After Europe and Asia shows they can play nice without genocides for 100 solid years, we will stay out of your affairs.

In the mean time, we keep troops at the ready in case we need to get to somewhere in a hurry. I'd rather we not go through another major conflict where the casualties are measured in the 100 of thousands.

And when the US shows it can stop toppling democratic governments, supporting murderous regimes and engaging in wars of agression for a decade, people will stop asking it to keep out of their affairs.

Hmm, there was a solid 30 years between Vietnam and Iraq, so I think we got you beat on that one.

As for leaving Japan and Germany, if they really wanted us gone, then we'd be gone already.

Blah blah blah blah blah. Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to keep the barbarians from slaughtering each other, AGAIN.

Oh I see, so there was no US involvement in goings on in Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Chile, etc. in the mean time. News to me.

Coming from someone waving the flag/dick of a nation built on conquest and ethnic cleansing this is pretty rich. Maybe you would like to comment on US support of Indonesia through grants, strategic advise and weapons sales during the occupation of East Timor in which over 100,000 were killed. Maybe you would like to comment on the bombing of Indo-China. Maybe you would like to comment on the occupation of the Philipines. Maybe you would like to comment on any number of coups agaisnt elected governments, wars of agression and subsidees to murderers.

Don't think your doesn't stink just as bad as everyone else's. And don't think at the moment there isn't a lot more of it about.
