Reading this I'm wondering, does the same technique could be used or adapted to add new farms, towns, plantations, mines or even ports to one or more regions ?
I have just tried to do it but I always get a CTD when selecting the Grand Campaign Menu or when trying to load a savegame...
Adding completely new facilities like farms, towns, plantations, mines, is a little different procedure. These cai_building_slots are connected with cai_region_slots and not with cai_settlement_slots. If you want to try have also in mind that the type of building code are different for those facilities than the city buildings. For now only the emerged facilities (ports, towns) that are going to be activated later in the game can be added in the beginning.

this sounds great can i do this with every settlement. e.g. naples?
how can we change how many ppl are needed for a one slot settlement to have a second slot?

no. I want native american settlements to have a wall slot for their starting settlements. So I want to reduce the pop size required so the wall slot can appear. Reduce pop required for city to lvl.
I dont believe that the native americans can build a wall. If they can you will have to add the building slot.
