Can't Install Mods That Require Kingdoms

I have M2TW Gold in Vista. When I try download mods that require kingdoms like Retrofit or Kingdoms Grand Campaign, an error occurs that says

"ERROR:Setup was unable to find a valid Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms installation. The Retrofit Mod version 1.0 requires Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms. Setup aborted."

I have kingdoms installed though, all four. I uninstalled it completely and ran a Defrag, CCleaner, and Registry Clean Up. I reinstalled it but still have the same problem. The game is retail version and is not pirated. If anyone have a suggestion to how to fix this problem PLEASE post it.

Vista has a mind all its own. In Retrofit and KGC I think you can tell the installer where to install it. It would be where the folder kingdoms.exe is.

All else fails contact the mod's forums. They know more about their installer than I do. You may also find your answer in the thread containg the download link and/or the readme for that mod.
