    Default Lags suddenly appeared...

    Hallo guys, I'm playing TATW now for a while and from the begining with huge units. It was all fine, even in larger battles (with over 20 units per side) there were no massive lags when I reduced details a little, but suddenly this changed. Even in smaler battles (about 15 or 20 units overall) there are massive lags now, does anybody have an idea, what the reason could be?

    System (notebook): Vista home Premium, Intel Core2 Duo 1.83 Ghz, 3 MB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT
    I do not play on akku

    Maybe something changed in the graphic settings, sometimes it does without any reason, maybe the resolution is higher now...

    Some units have exceptionally many polygons in their models and this causes slow down. Often their details up-close don't even say this, so it's basically performance eater. Nothing can be done unless someone reworks all models so they all have same number of polygons, the lower the better.

    I've also had this one time, I can play the game on the highest settings without lag. However during one battle (dwarves vs OoMM) the game suddenly became very laggy. Both my army and the OoMM army had less then the max of 20 units. After the game became very unplayable it crashed. I also noticed the game would not lag if I paused the game, and the lag happened after I switched back from 6x gamespeed to 1x gamespeed. I always have some sort of lag during 6x gamespeed, the game just stops for a moment and after that all units have moved a bit. This kind a lag just continued after that in 1x gamespeed mode.

    Does the massive number of polygons mean I can reduce my unit detail but still keep the quality anyway?

    If not what are the benefits of many polygons?
