Serious East-West divide

I am seeing more of it on this forum. The camps on TWC are not getting more liberal or open. They're getting more isolationist and entrenched, defensive and aggressive in its tones. There's no bothering to check data or truce anymore, but a "I am right and you're wrong for not believing that I'm right". Europeans have a knee-jerk reflex in their dislike for Russians and Muslims, and the opinions about the Jewish state in Israel is likewise just as fractured with no middle ground.

I suppose this is nothing to be worried about. But we're talking about a forum filled with impressionable 16-25 year olds with the arrogance that would make Mao (when he described the US imperialists as paper tigers) blush. These are the same little jerks who would grow up, maybe not before mellowing out, into possible wielders of political power etc. Or maybe I overestimate the standards of TWC. Maybe they'll just flip my burgers and fill the plastic bag with my shopping while cussing at my olive skin. Let's hope I'm over-exaggerating the observation.

Well maybe the Russians and Muslims and Chinese should unite and we could have a real East vs West War.

probably the most tragic mistake the 'west' will ever make is trying to turn a possible ally (china) into an enemy

Indeed. Such epic and profound statements as this convinced me a long time ago that this place was the refuge of the ignorant and the foolish.

Such a shame you have not tidied up TWC in the six months since I last posted here. Not up to me, ofcourse.
