    Default Re-Textured Easterling Unit

I gave the unit a nicer red colour instead of the brown, i also made his armour look abit dirtier. It is only a skin and to be able to use it you must replace the original texture. Hope you like I also added armour for the hands

    EDIT:
Since some people didnt like how the colour was too red, i decided to make it abit darker(And i also fixed a few other stuff, but their hardly noticeable)

Red looks very good, but I still like brown. Perhaps make the red and brown variations?
Btw, why does the armor look blurry?

Well, its supposto be dust and dirt on the armour. I got the impression of the Easterlings´ cloth as red in the movies.

Frankly said in my eyes it´s rather a step back than forward, the shiny armour was what gave them the finish touch.

I think they´d look much better if you just changed the orange for a red, do it with a few different reds and see which one looks better.

I believe you should try to retexture other units. The easterlings are some of the best modeled and "textured" units of the game. I dont think they need to be polished.

Of all the units in TATW that could have used a face lift you pick what I considered the best looking in the entire mod.....

As to an actual critic. I think the red is a little over saturated.

That was indeed the first thing to come to mind when I read the thread title packed in a "What? why would you want to retexture Rhûn?"

Anyway I'll stick with the original

Um... is it just me or does it look a lot worse in the second pic..? It seems blurry and distorted... and the cape is better before IMHO

The armor is supposed to look dirtier I think But I kind of agree, the armor should stay shiny, but the capes in my opinion should be red

Yes, it does look blurry, the red is to RED. I thought of retexturing eriador, but the team are gonna do that soon anyway

To be brutally honest, the Loke-Gamp Rim look much worse with your texture.

Now if you can do some touch-ups on Isengard\Mordor\Rohan to add detail or more variation, that would be appreciated by the community I'm sure.

guys, the armor is blurry cos he doesn't have his texture quality set to high (at least that's what i think)
but i still like brown capes better

and it has nothing to do with the fact that you modelled them
but i got to agree with you, i don't see how the loke-rim could be improved

Why is everyone calling the cloth brown. Its a rusty red.... do you all have crappy monitors or something that doesn't have the colour depth that I do?

What kind of monitor do you have our of curiosity?

On all the different monitors and colour settings I have viewed the units on not a single one of them is brown. Its always red. And the red in the first post is a highly saturated purplish red to me. What are you seeing?

A for effort but I also agree that if you are going to put some time into polishing a faction Rhun should not be it

Unfortunatly im a very bad modeller, i cant make new modells, which are probably what would be most required for some factions. Rhun's models&textures are great only that i think the cloth should be red, thats why i changed it.
If anyone has any ideas of anything i could change on other units then please post it.

I meant the new textures by Dea. What do they look like to you? Are you saying they are rusty red? Because that would be quite the departure form what I am seeing. And it would mean that your colour setup for your monitor is pretty messed up.
