My friend just got this mod, and we were hoping to play online. Is this possible, if so how? Also if we have different sub-mods will this effect if we can play together? Thanks.

Different submods will certainly give you a chance on crashes, for the best compatibility you should only use the same sub mods, though some submods don't affect the gameplay and might work together. And for the multiplayer... hotseat works for as far as I know, and you should just try Online battles... I'm not sure about those.

Well battles easy as long as you don't have different mods just sign online on multiplayer than start a game and tell him to join (gamespy has bad connection though).
For campaign you'll have to go on hotseat select the faction you all want to play, select difficulty, whether you want it autoresolve only, whether you use passwords so thye can't look at your places and whether to use cheats. Then it'll come up with first factions turn who you selected and you'll have to put any password in and confirm it (that'll be your password for rest of the game) htne when you've done your turn press end turn, esc key, save and go to your save folder in medieval directory upload it to wherever and send link to whoever your playing with, then they do there turn upload etc.
