Default Burning rams and siege towers - favourtism?

I was wondering if it's much easier for the enemy to set fire to your rams/towers than it is for you to set fire to theirs.

Not sure that it is a bug, or deliberate, or even true, but I've seen a few remarks about this in other threads and couldn't find it in this bug forum.

I stole these from the A Logical Suggestion thread...

Strange!!!

I thought: "oh well, maybe you just can't do that in this mod". I send a ram and the enemy's single (weak) archer unit burns it in two volleys. Maybe three. "Now that," I thought, "is unfair."

I was starting to think that you needed armour piercing arrows (which none of my Silvans do). Maybe that "weak" enemy unit wasn't as weak as I remember. Come to think of it they were pretty accurate. Also, they were shooting from the ground, standing about level with the second tower along the wall. I don't see how that would make a difference but strange that these guys weren't on the wall, being archers and all. Maybe the AI knows something that I don't?

I think if it is like this, then it's also in the vanilla version
I often saw my siege weapons burning, after they were hit by few fire arrows, while the AI moved till my gates without starting to burn...

Actually, come to think of it, maybe I did notice some of this inbalance in vanilla. Not as much though, I think.

Just wondering if anyone knew for sure. Maybe, if it's happening deliberately, it's part of one the incorporated submods.

I didn't have this problem in vanilla, and pretty sure not in Kingdoms either.

Not really much to do with this, but I was very surprised when my siege tower caught flames in the pouring rain! I guess that's a flaw in vanilla, but there should be a very tiny chance (almost to zero) to set alight a siege weapon in rain (more rain = smaller chance) and a larger chance in deserts.
Would be really awesome, waiting for rain when sieging a castle
    Gameplay > tiny little things

I think it is because the AI always attacks during rain or damp weather, which means they have a small chance of their engines going up in flames.

That sounds quite logical to me
