    Default Historical Battles?

Is there any chance the team will release historical battles from the LOTR lore? If so, which ones would you see?

I would rather have a mix between "recent" and "ancient" battles. Maybe Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith combined with some of the older Gondor battles vs. the East and Umbar, the Battle of the Last Alliance and even the Battle of the Five Armies. It would be interesting if they managed to implement some sort of "Smaug" unit especially fit into these circumstances.

I would also pay () to see a historical battle between Angmar and Arthedain. It seems the North is a bit woefully set aside in the book except as part of the lore and history, but with comparatively little action.

    Discuss.

"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

I would also love to see the battles of Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith, but only if there are custom fortresses. I haven't heard how they are doing with the whole custom castles business, so I'm not getting my hopes up. It's great that the team is really working with it though.

There are people working on other custom battles like the Battle of the Pelannor Fields which will be awesome.

Imagine a custom battle for the Dagor Nirnaeth Arnoediad, that would be incredible! Of course that would require a first age mod with balrogs and dragons so I'm just dreaming now.

Yep, a bit of the Beleriand spirit would be good. Powerful hordes of High Elves, mighty Numenorians and a wholly different setting... Maybe material for another mod !

Sithlord is intending to make a historical battles submod, but I don't think any special units and such will be created for it.

I don't think the team will make any, and if they do it won't be for a few versions. Of course I am just speculating.

But I would love to play the last alliance and such.

It could prove very interesting though if it were ever to be done. As the Easterlings you could decide whether or not to betray Fingon.

Sorry, I'm getting kind of off topic now.

Actually the movie battle between the Rohirrim and the warg riders when they are traveling to Helm's Deep would be a cool battle. There is a really well done video of it somewhere on the first page. I may also try to recreate it myself.

I tried but you need at least one normal general unit. I'd like to see it though .
