    Default BETA_8_REVISION_1 Uploaded

    Here is the Link:

    http://files.me.com/vik.tarnholm/nf2zk9

Install as usual into your RS2 directory, and MUST be installed over Squid's Beta8 Installer. A new\clean install isn't necessary unless you've been playing with it or have installed other stuff in it. I copy a clean RTW install to a directory, install Beta8, and install this Update and it has worked fine.

Is it save game compatible? NO!
    Is it incredible? YES!!

Many, many new buildings and descriptions.
Almost all unit cards are now present.....except perhaps a straggler here and there.

Economy has been completely reworked....but is still a work in process. So get all hyper if it's not perfect.
The 'new' map is done....except for Cherryfunk's part....and will need intensive testing for path issues, battlemap playability, etc.

    Downloading now..

If there is an update to the map it's probably best to delete the map.rwm file before trying to play.

excellent stuff! I will wait 6 weeks before I download it or else I will get addicted to it, resulting in an August 20th to forget.

Better. Just got completely thrashed in the first battle against Hannibal as Rome on H/VH.
I noticed that Antesignani were available in the Curia Hostilia - they should be a post-Marian unit.
Also presumably the temple trees aren't in there yet as the temples are just coming up with Temple of Battle with a note saying the description shouldn't appear on screen.

Free peoples Insubres infantry are missing a unit card as are the free peoples (slaves I think??) Bruttian spearmen.

Otherwise all looking really good. Loving all the new buildings with their details and so historical information. I've already learnt a load about the glass trade.

Interesting though - Hannibal totally thrashed me, then laid siege to Arretium, then the next turn disappeared up to Genoa and has stayed there since, allowing me to build up an army.

Yes, this upgrade is really awesome. But it also shows how much work there is still to do, especially where buildings and recruitment are concerned. In fact, I didn't even need to press 'end turn' to find the first glitch:

There must be an issue with the map there...half the citiy is underground. (SIGH)

As far as recruitment goes, I will need specific input as to what you mean.

Sorry about the Nomad descriptions.....I 'thought' I put them in, but they were from someone else.

Did you install the new UI seperately, BTW? I'm not getting a new Roman adviser appearing - looks like the old vanilla one.

I'm also still somewhat concerned about the new campaign map and Cherry's comments about flatness of mountains. Hopefully he's working on this.

Macedon campaign CTD while in Pella and trying to hit Recruitment button. Well I think it's because I override the old beta 8 I will put it again over a clean install and see what's happening then.

Roman Interface is still not 100% finished so DVK doesn't have it. Will be done in next few days, but all others should be in this update.

Temple descriptions are FAR from done. You must build a 'Temple of Battle' before the other temples appear....it will be called a 'Temple Complex' or something like that eventually.

I have no cards for those.

    I fixed the Antesignani...

Yeah, my clean install worked fine whereas overriding didn't.

The new Roman legion / auxilia UI cards look fantastic .

When I looked at them first thing this morning they looked a little 'fuzzy' at 1920x1200 on a 9800GX2.

This should install with no problem right over Beta8....that's how I have been testing it. Map.rwm is automatically deleteed when you install this.

The new Roman UI and advisor weren't done yet, that's why they aren't in. Unfortunately, they have to go in the Mod_0.pak to work.
