for any one who thinks that trolls or any thing elce is over powered

it's very easy to change it your self if you realy can't wait untill the next patch:


right, go to my computor and then follow this directory:
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data

then find the file, " export_descr_unit " and copy this film to your documents or something to back it up. then go back to the original file and right click and then go to properties and make sure the "read only" box is NOT checked

open the file and there will first be a list of what all of the different lines of text mean
got to "edit" then "find" and type in troll, and it will find any reference to trolls
you can then change any of thir stats here, or indeed any units
health will let you change its hit points,
stat_pri will change the attack, the seacond number is the charge bonus
stat_pri_armour is in order, the armour, the defence skill, then the shield


then just save it and any changes will be brought in next time you run the game
remember that you can change bretty much any stat of any unit, but even if your trying to readdress balance, you could end up going to far the other way, and always make sure you back up any files if you don't want to anoyance of possibly having to install it all again if something goes wrong

(if you are having trouble saving it, those with vista may have to go back on the properties, to to security, check that the USERS profile has the box "full control" ticked)

Just install Real Combat when it's fully developed.

Thanks badger - I don't want to install real combat, I like combat as the designers wanted it to be, so just editing the trolls (which is my only bugbear) is a massive help

Well,if this is true, I presume KK etc decided that real combat is superior to their own - whilst I can't speak for real combat coz I haven't tried it, I really don't think they need to change that much.

Badger - I've implemented your changes. I've made the health to 2 instead of 6 (trolls), they are still awesome, but at last I can actually beat them
