another error playing ER

since no one has replied to my other post yet I decided to find out for myself

first I tried to install it over rome total realism, when that didn't work I copied my RTW unmodified folder and tried to install it into the copied folder but got the same problem.

about halfway through the installation I get the following error message box:

The cabinet file 'disk1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

[cancel] [retry] [ignore]

I clicked retry and the same box came up again, I cancelled the installation and tried again but still no luck

my game is patched to v1.5 and v1.6 as it is gold edition and comes pre-patched, the folder I used was an unmodified copy of vanilla RTW, the only change I made was that I deleted the contents of the 'save' folder first since the saves were made on vanilla RTW and I thought it might crash my game if I left them there in extended realism.

Gonna try to install Imperator II now to see if I get the same problem with that

my games are patched to 1.5 and 1.6

I did what you said aboutt he music but it didn't work, the music is still off

I tried a new game to see if what happened before was a fluke and it seems to be working ok now, guess it was just bad luck

One other thing, I noticed that the Britons have the Scipii flag and some place called Galactia has the Brutii flag on the choosing my factions screen

I got 2 years into the game, I smashed Pyrrhus's army but Pyrry got away to Tarentum so I went to Tarrentum to show him how much I love him.

I had moved my navy around so that after I took Tarrentum and Croton I could send my army over to Greece to finish off Epirus but when I end my turn I get attacked by Epirus fleet which ends with both fleets destroyed and the game crashes immeditaely afterwards, I tried this 5 times and on the 5th time my fleet survived but the game crashed anyway so I don't know what's going on, it's clearly not fluke but I dunno what's up.
