    Default An adventurer?

In the loading-screens Tom Bombadil is quoted as "adventurer".. I don't think that's a suitable term. Shure, Tolkien wrote "The adventures of Tom Bombadil" for his children, but in LotR he does not resemble that kind of charakter. Since it is not clear wether Bombadil is one of the Maiar or even Ainur or a personification of Arda itself the word "adventurer" should either be something like "master" or better omitted. Feel free to speculate about this mysterious fellow I liked him a lot and was a bit disappointed about him being left out in the movies.. Is he somewhere in TATW?

For the present he's only in quotes! though I'd make him an ancillary
Well,as for the books, for me Bombadil is a little bit too childish for the LOTR.It perfectly suits such book as Hobbit, but in LOTR his whistling and singing is sometimes out of place(yes,I know that LOTR was started as the second Hobbit..)
That's just my point of view

the singing is a reference to some older folklores from finland.

The Sexual Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Goldberry; an unpublished work by J.R.R Tolkein, perhaps?
