Firstly I'd just like to say that I have broadband and the latest version of RTW..

About 3/4 of the time, whenever I try to host a game online, all members will choose their armies and then we wait whilst the game loads up...As soon as the game starts it shows a scroll saying 'unresolved'. When I quit the game it goes to a screen that says 'gamespy has been disconnected'. This happens to me whether I log into the multiplayer lobby via gamespy or simply through the game. Often the game will crash in the same manner as I have described and when I get back into the lobby all the games will say that the game data is incompatible!?!?!?!?

Can someone please help me as it's driving me mad that I can't play online!

Well about 1/4 of the time it does operate correctly. No I don't have any mods.

I did once have the RTR mod but I have reinstalled the game since then using only the latest official patch. In fact I have reinstalled the game several times but always encounter the same problem: I'll try to host a game and after people have joined and chosen their armies the battle loads up and straightaway a scroll is shown saying 'unresolved'. However, some of the time it does work OK.

I had the same problem. This how i fixed my problem. Sometimes when tried to uninstall the game, the C:\Program Files\Activision folder would not be removed and still have some information of the previous mod. So what im trying to tell you is to try to uninstall the game and look to see if you still have that folder. if you do delete it. then reinstall the game and dont forget to download 1.2 patch

I already thought of that AztecMx and it didn't work. I uninstalled the game conventionally and then deleted the entire activision folder and all RTW files located on my hard drive. I then reinstalled the game but still get the same problem: Two player games that I host mostly tend to work but the 4 player ones mostly fail. Maybe it is my system specs in which case I maybe setting my graphics options to 'low' will improve online performance?

    Here's my system specs again:

    AMD Athlon 2400+
    ECS K7S5A
    Radeon 9600 (256MB DDR)
    DDR-SDRAM PC2700 512MB
    Windows XP Pro

I would think my PC should be able to handle online play OK?!??!

I'd like to quickly add that it doesn't tend to crash very often when I host a 2 player game but it does frequently when I host a 4 player game and practically all the time for 6 player games.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

That sounds like it could be too much server load, what's your system specs? I keep getting the feeling that it's just too much, and your RTW may decide to kick you from the game, because your lagging (in the terms of frame rate) too much.

No I'm not using a router, just a normal broadband modem.

    Errr...My system specs are:

    AMD Athlon 2400+
    ECS K7S5A
    Radeon 9600 (256MB DDR)
    DDR-SDRAM PC2700 512MB
    Windows XP Pro

Maybe it is the fact that my PC isn't top of the line?
