I have only recently started to spot this member's posts, but was nonetheless impressed by the quality of them. Though he confesses that he has on two occassions lost his temper, he assures me that on both occassions he made a point of apologising both publicly and via PM to Hormiga. I feel that the attitude he takes to debating on the forum, combined with his evident eloquence and quality of argument would make him a fine addition to the ranks of the civitates.

    Submitted paragraphs are shown below:

Reason for accepting offer of Patronage:
Friends, in the following passage I will attempt to explain why I desire to rise amongst the ranks of Civites, according to the 3rd Amendment of our Syntagma.
As you very well know the word idiot has roots in the Greek language and in the word Ithiotis. Ithioteia, grave accusation during the glorious age of my birthblace, (and always a good excuse for ostrakeia) was used to describe the person not actively involved in politics (ta peri tin polin=things concerning the city). By nature and nature I am a political animal, and not involving my self with the affairs of our community, would be deviating from my principles and my cultural inheritance.
In a less pompous tone, I would like to say that I like the TWC community; I met exciting people here, and already jousted, with some of them, I need to share what I know and question what I believe, in these forums.
And I want to be given the opportunity to contribute, according to the Syntagma in the prosperity and evolution of the virtual place where I spend most of my free time recently.
As I already explained to my dear Patron, this offer from his part, leading to a successful candidacy or not, is already reason enough for me to improve the quality of my participation, and for that I am grateful.

    Thank you.

    Definition of duties:
    Friends,
In the following paragraphs, I would like to explain the way I perceive the duties and privileges of a Civis as it required in the relevant section of the Syntagma.
First, let me say that apart from the privilege to participate to the discussions in the Symposium, I consider that my duties and privileges coincide.
It is my duty and my privilege to abide by the Syntagma.
As a Civis it is my duty and my privilege to participate in the decision making processes culminating in the Vote.
It is my duty and my privilege to act in such way as to reflect the best upon my Patron, the rank of Civites, and the ruling body of these forums.
A Civis should moderate himself at all times, attempt for posts of considerable quality, and aim for the respect of all co-posters irrespectively of rank.
It is my duty and my privilege to intervene in order to prevent disputes, and at the same time set an example of behaviour for all participants in a discussion.
It is my duty and privilege to engage in constructive criticism of the administrative process, as described in the regulations concerning my rank.
A Civis should educate, in the classical sense, the new members of these forums and assist them in their fist steps in TWC.
It is my duty and my privilege to care about the prosperity and evolution of the TWC.
I started participating in an active way in the forums during the boycott/buyout debate, which for me was a good lesson in community forging. Since this time I had some good posts and a small level of nonsense (as it happens when you feel at ease for the first time in a new environment).I also lost my temper in two distinct occasions, the first being a sarcastic retorts towards a fellow poster and the second a heated exchange with another. I apologized promptly in both cases in public and in private.
It is my duty and my privilege not to let my self come in need to apologize for the same reasons.

It was my duty and my privilege to address those few lines to you.

    Thank you
    Garbarsardar.

Outstanding member. His breasts thread is Symposium material, though it was great to see the community respond well to it in OT. Was just saying to someone last night that if I had to retire my duties, first thing would be to patronize Garbardarsar. I look forward to his membership. He never disappoints.

The common culture of a tribe is a sign of its inner cohesion. But tribes are vanishing from the modern world, as are all forms of traditional society. Customs, practices, festivals, rituals and beliefs have acquired a flut and half-hearted quality which reflects our nomadic and rootless existence, predicated as we are on the global air-waves.

My time here has ended. The time of the syntigmata has ended. Such is how these things are, and I accept it. In the several years I was a member of this forum, I fought for what I considered to be the most beneficial actions to enrich the forum. I regret none of my actions, and retain my personal honor and integrity.
