I find that the mod music will stop sometimes and the vanilla track will take ahold.
I'm playing windowed and alt-tab alot which I get a inkling might be the heart of the issue. I'll have to consciously pay attention to the moment the music changes next time.
Also, I find my shift button stops working at some points when I play, campaign or battle regardless. It seems to have started to occur around the time I moved my teamspeak button (which I don't have on alot so that should be interfering)
This is most likely a game issue that shouldn't be mentioned here, but I don't read the rest of this board so it would help me greatly if someone could help me with this if they have the time to.
I have a question: how can I change the Dutch Infantry texture to one that is in the UP retexture project, as well as changing the reserve infantry to the AOR Dutch Infantry texture?
A little clearer:
I want the current Dutch Line infantry texture replaced by the new texture in the united provinces retexture project
Then I want to change the dutch reserve infantry texture to use the one I'm replacing with the texture project one.
I don't have it set to push to talk nor have I use Steam voice chat at all so I haven't fiddled with any of it's settings.
It's a really annoying bug as it's comes and goes, but the going takes so long and is so random it's just quicker to save the game and restart the client.
But when it occurs during a battle......
Skin packs in Mod format:
- Simply enable the pack on top of TROM with ModManager
Skin packs in Patch format:
- Open the pack with PackFileManager and change Pack Type is set to Mod.
- Then enable it on top of TROM with ModManager
This will change the textures of the named units to the ones in the skinpack.
Changing the skins of reserve units isn't too difficult, but you need to know how to work with PackFileManager. You need to copy the textures euro_line_infantry_etc in the pack and rename them to aor_line_infantry. Then they should show up for all your Dutch line units in Trom.
Immediate CTD as soon as grand campaign is selected. Anyone else experience this?
I also have Regalia of nations and A Proper Empire, perhaps those are the source of the problem?
A Proper Empire will cause conflicts with TROM. They are both gameplay mods that change the same set of files. You can only have either APE or TROM installed.
Regalia of Nations should not cause any problems with TROM, except their flags pack, which also modifies the campaign file (startpos.esf). This would explain your campaign crash.
But the sounds, skins and effects can be used without problems.
Thank you very much.
Hey!
Sadly I've got a problem with TROM. I can start the game and
play land battles as well as campain game, but if I try to save
the game or to end the turn the game crashes to desktop.
Additionally the media-, the music-, the sound- and the smoke-
mods do not work.
I installed everything as described in the txt-file and tried to run
the mod with and withod the modmanager. I can't find the
reason for my problem. I reinstalled the game but even this
didn't help.
I'm using the german version of E:TW and never had a problem
with other mods (e.g. Darthmod, Smoke&Sound mod or Regalia
of Nations).
I hope you can help me.
(BTW: Great mod, as far as I can see! Keep up the good work!)
Yes I used Lt's Mod Manager and it did not work but deleting
the text.pack worked. Now I am able to play your glorious mod.
Sadly all "special" units from your mod are now called like their
vanilla counterparts, so I've got two different Prussian Lineinfantrymen.
Better than nothing though.
Thanks for your help!
I am having some trouble with an older mod conflicting with TROM. I thought I had removed the older one. If anyone is running ETW Vanilla + TROM only, could I please see a list of which files are meant to exist in the XP empire total war\data\ folder? Thanks in advance.
Nevermind - I got it sorted.
Hi guys. Newbie here. It says on the installation guide
"1) Extract the all the .pack files from both Part 1 and Part 2 to your data directory, usually:
[drive]:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data"
Problem is that I don't have this directory, probably because I loaded my latest patch through torrent. Will there be a problem? Hopefully not, I am eager to play your MOD already.
Cheers..
Where did you install Steam? In any case, the part "\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data" will always be the same. It is important that you install mods in the "Data" directory, otherwise they will not show up.
