Random Freezing

Hi, I have a big problem - my game freezes randomly. No CTD, no error log, a total freeze (only the mouse cursor moves), after which I have to do a hard restart.

I'm running it on a notebook, quite an average machine, Core2Duo 2.1GHz, 3GB RAM, Radeon 3470. The game runs reasonably smooth on low-mid settings, with slight stuttering on highly forrested areas. But after a few mins into the game (any kind campaign or mod) it freezes either on the campaign screen or during a battle. Once it even froze on loading.

It's weird, never had a freeze on other similarly graphics intesive games. I'm using Windows 7 RC, hopefully that's not the problem, but as I said, no freezes or CTDs in other games, actually everthing runs faster than on Vista. Please help

Edit: Forgot to say, it concerns the Kingdoms expansion.

Fixed it. In my last attempt to reinstall, I always changed the attributes of ALL files in the MTW folder from "Read-only", inbetween every patch and installation.
