Soldiers in Columbia murder for promotion

Disgusting. That's all I can say about it. What would compel someone to murder another human being in cold blood for a promotion in the military?


edit: excuse me if I don't respond in awhile. I've got to get off this computer. Anyways, is the story old? I don't think so, but it sould be nice to know. It says the accusations were only days old.

Well Colombia does have the most murders per capita in the world and has a long history of brutal internal violence, like the aptly named Violencia of the 50's.
